The knees are the bodies sacrifice for the sake of the back

So sacrifice your knees instead of tour back so they hurt when youre older?
@GGSTUNNA11Сағат бұрын
Actually, it’s easier to do it properly. Hurts and put strain on back when you do it wrong.

Not good for your knees really.

Well...if you never lift from your back you don't train your muscles there so it stays weak. The trick is to do this with the right amount of weight and ALWAYS slowly. And NEVER EVER with any side movement. A strong lower back is important.

The problem is when the object is too big to fit between your legs like that, then you have to bend forward. Worked as delivery driver for years and this always is something i think about.

Looks like violating some gym's code of conduct if you help lifters by putting a stick up their butts! Looks painful! 😮

That’s all good and fine, but if you have bad knees like I did that was impossible for me. After knee surgery ( replacement surgery) I was able to walk and lift like you should.

I lifted 40 lbs using this exact method when I was 22. It shredded my lower back and I still occasionally have back pain because of it. I am now 51. When they say "lift with your legs and not your back," be skeptical.

Informative video! However, it's important to note that the recommendation while lifting weights may not be universally applicable. While this technique is often suggested, the optimal posture can vary significantly between individuals due to differences in body mechanics and muscle engagement. The demonstration in the video primarily illustrates spinal movement without considering the role of muscles, tendons, and other anatomical structures involved in lifting. These factors are crucial in determining the most effective and safe lifting technique. So basically it's essential to tailor the approach to each individual's unique physiology and biomechanics.
