Tbh, we are hurting for professionals e.g physicians, surgeons, staffing etc. In the Phils, pg may pambayad ka, matitingnan ka agad. So our healthcare system in Canada is broken, unfortunately. Factor din i would like to add is age. I came here when i was 23 yo in 2006. I sponsored my parents in 2009, and that time they were only in their 60s. But because of changes in my work status, i had to reapply the sponsorship in 2014. They finally arrived in 2018, but they were already 10 years older. It was harder for their bodies to continue to work plus the depressing weather here in Metro Vancouver, so they went home to the Phils. Totoo talaga na masyadong mahal na dito sa Canada. Isang reason dyan is yung government elected officials, sila po yung me control ng economy so based on their leadership, it directly affects the economy and affordability ng Canada. Napanood ko yung video, pure speculation lang sa akin pero based on a few pinoys and friends, lifestyle also has an affect sa affordability. Dito sa BC merong tawag na "house poor". Sa tingin ko, sa dahil sa changes in interest rates and overall affordability, yung family naging victim at hindi na nila naklaya yung monthly amortization plus daily expenses. Again pure speculation, pero feeling ko they decided to keep the house, pa rent nila yung rooms and use the income to pay for the monthly amortization. Based on their video sabi nila 2 years sila sa bahay, thats when the interest rates where below 2%, maybe just maybe they have chosen a variable rate or expiring na yung current rate nila, di nila kakayanin yung changes of monthly amortization. I think after 2 - 3 years when the inflation has balanced out and the rates are lower, they have the option to come back.

For the house, i think we have to factor in the equity earned. Overall, I feel like buying a house even outs lang. Unless super problematic ng house which means sa time na ibebenta, palugi na sya or andami mong nagastos sa repair na lugi pa. Or sa end kumita ka just right sa pag taas ng inflation or more. Usapang affordability lang talaga yung issue. Yung kung sa current salary and financial capability ay kayang mabayaran ang lahat ng bills. Kasi kung hindi, wag nalang dahil marereturn lang sa bank na palugi and sayang lahat ng binayad. Tyaka yung quality of life bababa kasi mas limited ka na sa pag gastos, bawal na mag eat out, mag gala. Pwede naman daw mag pa rent ng ibang rooms sabi ng iba, pero kasi during these times is hindi na nag eequate yung kitaan sa rent vs mortgage dahil pataas lang yung house prices pero the rents are controlled (in some province of canada, and idk if maisstretch pa ang taas ng rent dahil salary is not keeping up vs the house prices and rental prices). Also, sa 20kcad na down, here in BC, its just a 1 br condo, baka wala pa nga. Studio lang. End, idk what the solution is. To buy or not to buy, that is the question. 😂 Pero so far I'm leaning towards buying. Very at risk pag walang bahay. Many filipinos regret na hindi sila bumili before. Baka after a few years yung mahal ngayon mas mahal pa lalo later so lets buy na kung kaya naman.
