Refreshing to see an artist on youtube focussed on teaching instead of thinking they're a celebrity. Great watercolour artist who focusses on teaching. Thank you.

@@fiddler1252 sorry for the delayed reply, I use Dan Smith, Winsor Newton and Holbein. I am not devoted to one brand but try many colors out. I have a supply list on my website and it lists the brand next to color, thanks

Oh also...Daniel Smith Paynes Grey is different from Holbein Paynes Grey and imo not as nice as Windsor Newton Paynes Grey. The later has some blue in it and makes some gorgeous violets and greens.

Hi Geoff.Thanks for the videos. I have a question about the ball head and how to take it off of my tripod and attach it to the desk. I have the same insert that you have and I went out to buy an insert nut, got 1/4 inch but it was too small. I suppose it was 1/4 " on the outisde. I did put a piece of plywood onto my tripod with a plate off of another easel box that I foolishly bought for the extra stout tripod that I foolishly bought. But the plywood that I attached swivles perfectly and so I am happy about that. Thanks for all of your great videos. I got some of those goat hair brushes. Love them!

This is a great demo for an intermediate painter. Starting a painting is hard, but developing the midrange is even harder- where to soften, where to go brighter, where to go darker, how to keep the main area of interest. Thank you so much!

Hi Geoff thanks for this lovely idea .. In going to give it a try. I was wondering about how you have fixed the ball head to the base? Can you elaborate please? Thanks
@geoffallen7321
@geoffallen7321 Жыл бұрын
The ball head has a 1/4-20 thread underneath for attachments. See that square piece of plywood on top of 4x4 gray wood? First I drilled through that plywood and attached ball head to that. I countersunk the bolt head so it is hidden within the plywood and wouldn’t be sticking out the bottom. Then from the top, I screwed down the plywood to the 4x4.. As for the base I screwed from the bottom into the 4x4. I used the 4x4 to add height to the easel and it allows it to tilt more. hope that helps. Thanks for Question

If you do it let me know how it goes, so many solutions to this. I am thinking of a double hinge design so that there is a little more room at the top. Good luck

I don't have one myself and I found them by google searching for "seat and Cart" I found one at Jerrysartarama.com called "The ArtComber Portable Rolling Art Chair, Blue", I can't recommend anything because I stand at my easel and don't use these carts.
