I would sell my soul to have lived in that time period in California. As close to utopia as you'll probably get.

I remember that day! I was in the 7th grade at Miller Jr. High and there was snow on the school grounds. My parents experienced the same thing in San Jose around I think was 1960 when it snowed in the valley.

I recall the 1976 snow fall, I was 9-years old at the time. We were living in the Evergreen area near Aborn Road and San Fellipe Road. The snow lasted until about 12 noon. It snowed again in the early 1990s but that was at night and it melted right away.

Growing up in Palo Alto in the 1960's there was plenty to do on the Stanford Campus. We used to ride our bikes all around the top and down the inside and down the bowl of the amphitheater, or ride over to Hoover Tower and take the elevator to the observation deck. The authorities never seemed to mind. It was a great time to live in the Bay Area.

Where exactly did the rodeo take place? I seem to think this was the old stretch of 101 that later became Veterans Blvd.?

A few of those old neon signs, a very few, can still be found on Bascom Avenue in Santa Clara. Almost washed away now by the rapid growth of the tech era.

Santa Cruz is a special place and like the rest of California was much much nicer thirty, forty years back when there were way less people. The quality of life there has been destroyed. Enjoy!

I was born and raised in San Jose, I live not too far from Alum Rock park. When I was in High School, we used to run from Independence high to Alum Rock for Cross Country practice, back in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

I was in first grade in Sunnyvale. It was on a Sunday, so all the kids were out playing in it. We stockpiled some of the snow and the next day got in trouble for throwing snowballs at cars that drove by. I blame my neighbor Steve because he was older and more mischievous than me.

I've lived in San Jose since 2010 (and Silicon Valley since 1997). It's so strange to see recognizable buildings in this 1950s video of downtown San Jose. I pass by these buildings every day .

We had a boat at Santa Cruz yacht harbor in the 60s.We spent many a weekend going "over the hill" from Saratoga.Hwy 17had no krails and every curve was banked opposite of the curve! One such curve we referred to as Deadmans curve. When you have a curve in the road that is banked the opposite direction,it gives people a false sense of confidence! There waa a graveyard of cars for some time in the valley below that particular turn
