What is electrification I think Perth needs electrification
@TransportofPerth2 күн бұрын
@@JamesParadiso It means all train lines are run by electricity on overhead wires, and so there are no diesel trains. Perth got this in 1991 on all lines. We don't have any diesel trains. Adelaide is far behind.

There's plans in place for a 4th main reaching down all tne way from Westfield to Pukekohe for additional freight and regional trains as well 35:40 There was an old Auckland Railway Station when the eastern line/Westfield deviation was built, you actually pass the old platforms at 40:00 but u were looking out the wrong window

To be honest with you, our Johnsonville line as perfectly suitable for tourist. It's NOT a proper line for serious commutes for general day to day for work or even shopping. Trains still need to stop at certain points waiting for another train which travels an opposite direction on the same track to pass! That is a joke in comparison to.... any railway network esp. Sydney.

The nuance of North Adelaide is that its houses sit up on the hill caused by the para fault line which travels north-northeast from the Torrens lake near the weir all the way out to Gawler. The train line has to stay on the plains to the west of the fault, which it does all the way to gawler. As North Adelaide station is at the bottom of the hill, well away from north Adelaide's residences, it gets no use. It's like the monarchy, there for pretty much ceremonial purposes only.
