I had the same problem with ArbPro. The manufacturer told me they were for climbing only, not for ground work.

What i find amazing is the boots actually last long enough for the soles to wear out. I have used many different safety boots, using a spade daily, digging to replace gas mains/pipes, my boots are often wedged under the spade as a lever pivot point excerting alot of pressure on the toe caps, struck with spades, scrapped and bashed on tarmac and sharp objects such as broken cast iron pipes whilst climbing in and out of holes in the roads, stood in muddy water above the ankles for long periods of time, used 50+ hours per week. The cheapest boots below £50 dont last a single day, average boots fall apart after 4-6 months and often let water in before then. My current Haix have lasted 12 months solid soles are slightly worn now but have never been cleaned or maintained and are still as comfortable, dry and warm as when I first got them, hell the laces havnt even snapped. Plus the cost for a pair is less then the cost I would spend on multiple average pairs over the span of 12 months. Customer for life!!!!

Thanks for the video! They must use a softer rubber on this model for better traction in the trees and on the ground.

My White's Smoke Jumpers have a Vibram sole, and I've had them resoled. My Haix are the neon green, I've had them for six months. I put them on when I get to the woods, and take them off before I drive out so my soles are still like new. I don't understand the reason of having Vibram soles being an issue for resole. Try a local cobbler or send them off to a cobbler. Someone built them, Someone can fix them. 👍 good review, I like my Haix, but my White's are like slippers. I don't climb though.

I have been wearing a pair of Zamberlan logger pro GTX RR , boots are CRAZYY HARDCORE, pricey but definitely worth the investment for personal protection. If HAIX don’t man up, look up Zamberlan.

I just got some protector Ultra's for Christmas. I live in the US and I wear an 11 and a 1/2 D shoe normally. I got the protectors in an 11 and a 1/2 medium and While the length fits perfect the width is huge. I can't Believe how much too wide they feel for being normal width. Do most Americans that wear a normal D width need to order a narrow from them or not do you know? Thank you.

I don’t know. You could contact Haix directly, I’m sure they would be happy to help.

I understand why you made this video. Just FYI though, anyone that can work with Vibram souls, or anyone that can resold rock climbing shoes, should be able to resolve these boots for you. Once again, I do understand your frustration with the situation with nuts how. However, it may be more affordable for you to have them re-sold at a cobbler than buying a new pair. Just FYI

I’m in uk and I’ve had mine re soled with vibram soles twice now so it can be done , don’t think it’s same tread pattern but still vibram and good

Where did you take them to be re-soled? I’ve checked with all my local companies here in the States and none of them will re-sole a Vibram sole.
@briankennedy1313
@briankennedy1313 3 жыл бұрын
Derek Jacobs no one will in the states I concur. If they can’t immediately see laces holding the sole on they don’t even want to look at it. In other words if it’s not a piece of leather attached to a plain rubber sole with stitching ONLY, no go.

You are asking a lot of a boot to have the sole last more than a year. I had mine resoled by a local cobbler after a year and going strong. The cobbler even put on a custom “regular” vibrant sole for me....
@derekjacobs2311
@derekjacobs2311 3 жыл бұрын
I’m not asking for a sole that lasts more than a year, simply a sole that can be replaced. Most Haix boots can be re-soled, and they advertise that. In the fine print, they do not re-sole the Protector series because they have Vibram soles. It’s misleading. Plus, I’d love to see Vibram allow Haix boots to get a new sole. Thanks for watching.

This is awesome you made this video!! Thank you!! I too have the protector ultras and same issue!! What In the heck they put that Nushoe brochure in with the ultras if they won’t honour it... They are some excellent boots aside breaking them in and tread life...

Your davos soles used on the military boots are better in my experience than the vibram soles. Love your boots though.👍the Davos soles are 5 years old and still good.

@@ilikesaws4068 I just wrote a similar comment about the Davos sole,very hard wearing which is what you need.I have been put off Vibram soles because they wear so quickly.I have a pair of Altberg boots which are Vibram I am going to get Davos soles put on them,Haix is No 1 though to me.

@@yan24to Sorry I didnt see ur comment. I agree 100%. People say that vibram is the best but I think they are just a name brand. The ones on the altberg arent great. They wear fast and are slippery as can be on wet rock etc. The davos soles on the other hand are hard wearing, grip well on all surfaces and are in general better. The high liability is my favourite boot for that reason. I dont know why they are not as popular?

@@ilikesaws4068 Vibram look great, but I was very disappointed with the sole on the Altberg boots,I bought the Haix cold wet weather 4 years ago the sole is still reasonable and I have used them a lot.

m exactly. Altbergs are well made but the sole let's them down. I have several pairs of haix hi liability and they all still have fresh looking soles despite all the use. I would strongly recommend haix to move from a vibram to davos. Much better quality it seems
