I found out recently that in group rides you are able to obtain a higher average speed by taking advantage of the draft of the other riders ahead of you, periodically rotating riders from the lead to the back for group efficiency.

I also have the SL5. It was my first road bike. With the Pro 37s though. The heavier, deeper 51s should definitely keep their momentum easier. It’s the flywheel effect. Either way, it’s a great bike. I’ve wanted to ride the Chicago lakefront for years. It must be beautiful!

Is the pro 51’s performance close to that of the rsl 51?
@cordellhaynes3975
@cordellhaynes3975 Жыл бұрын
I would say absolutely the same rim, just different hubs. The pro 51's is a really good rim it's hold speed keeps the momentum going and never stop spinning they are really good with the gp continental 5000 tires!!!

@@cordellhaynes3975 thank you. I have an Emonda and I’m about an 18 to 19 mph on the stock wheels that came with it. I figured I would get better on the pros then go to rsl.
@cordellhaynes3975
@cordellhaynes3975 Жыл бұрын
That speed with the carbon wheels should easily get you 1-2mph faster, put some continental 5000 on, and you are good to go

How long can you comfortably ride on his bike? I like to ride 3-5 hours but everyone keeps telling me to get a Domane instead of the Emonda
@cordellhaynes3975
@cordellhaynes3975 Жыл бұрын
The most I rode was 2 hours, and I felt great after. The new domane is light as the emonda now I would test ride them both than make my pick. I'm sure whichever bike you get, you are gonna love it

.... Now I question my life choices, looking to go 4802 miles around UK coast on the Emonda ALR doing 12-16 hours a day without actually training, I would of loved a mix of white era with rainbow tie dye design but unsure anyone happy to do like 16-30 colours, unsure total colours

The bike is (58cm). I'm not really sure what the bike weight was before, but I believe it was 20lbs. I got the bike down to 19lbs with a power meter, water bottle, and saddle bag on it

What you think about the seat post/seat upgrade ? I put about 5k miles on my sl5 so far. That’s one of the parts I wanted to upgrade
@cordellhaynes3975
@cordellhaynes3975 Жыл бұрын
The seatpost feels much better! Switching the seatpost to carbon took off weight and you feel less vibration when you ride over a bump. The aeolus pro seat feels so much more comfortable I must admit the seat does squeak when you ride over a bump
