This wouldn't have been made prior to June of 2000. That's when this updated Keypad was introduced. Its interesting- because I never knew this video was made.

Did M-C have a CATV operation in Rochester, NY? I assume this was in the Toronto area, but then again, M-C had US cable operations in Florida, New Jersey and Michigan. I know they also had an orientation channel called Tv3.

I meant origination, not orientation. My bad...

I remember havin a sleepover at my friend's apartment who lived down the hall from me and my family. He was also my classmate. We were playing Sega Genesis until like 1am then I fell asleep in the living room. Woke up around 3am to use the bathroom and saw the living room TV still on and my friend asleep like a baby just a few feet away from it with a blanket on him on the floor. Come to find out his mom did that for him. For some reason he slept well with this channel on as white noise. If it wasn't, he'd have a hard time sleeping. He slept in the living room until he was at least 13. We were both 7 when this happened. Having this on in the background in my room now now that I'm in my 30s, I totally understand it now lol.

Amazing ability to go from singing the melody with the tape backup to riffing with the background as it leads the song. Skillful performer.

I remember this lineup! This was for the Newton/Needham area in Massachusetts! Note how there’s no cable channels 4 or 7. I remember wondering why they did this. It was because they didn’t want interference from the real channels (WBZ and WHDH, which switched affiliates just a week before this). I remember about a year later, Natick moved to this lineup, but Natick did have WSBE out of Providence on channel 7, and it was not available in any other towns on this system. I think it was just because they had it before.

Glad to see this. I had a tape of Prevue Guide from that era but I lost it. I didn't have cable as I was living with my grandmother who did not have cable or sattelite until Christmas 1995 when she got a primestar. And my dad did not have cable either

The live version of Fire and Rain is probably the best I have seen. The slower tempo makes it so powerful.

Truthfully, I feel a certain kind of jealousy when I see young people, much much younger than James Taylor’s generation flocked to his concerts, gigs. I know its kind of selfish but I feel our generation of the 60s and 70s can truly relate to the music of James Taylor. Our generation has undergone a lot from Vietnam War, the scourge of drugs, civil disobedience, social and political upheaval(Watergate) , etc. Many did not make it but luckily far too many survived to this day. And these scenarios we shared with the generation and music of James Taylor, Carole King, et al. But now I came to realize, I can’t own JT. His artistry and talents, struggles and successes have to be shared by all peoples of all ages, those older , younger and in between and for generations to come. Love you James. 💕And love you Carole💕

Just seing this concert again, its perfection and infinite beauty, almost makes me emotional since I have watched it a countless number of times after it aired on a PBS (I had even bought a high-quality VHS tape just to record it). and I am reminded of how truly special it is and that James Taylor is one of the greatest songwriters that ever lived. Thank you, JT!
