The sales pitch wasn’t so subtle. :). Portrait photographers take hundreds of pictures wedding photographers even thousands sometimes. So over $80 you have to pay for 1200 exports. But let’s say for example you have 300 pictures as a part of something and you realize that white balance wasn’t correct and there were some other issues so you have to run the whole thing again There goes 300 credits again You were talking about for software. You only use two times. I hope not buying a software to use hope people do more research than that But I’m not favoring this kind of charging And there’s money that feel the Specially, when you have to redo things which happens quite often Ware is not smart enough to realize that you have already exported it and will then let you export again with some minor changes That would’ve been acceptable But anyway, otherwise a good video But I think they really need to consider their payment structure

So the first step is to expose to the sky. Make it darker, not flashing at that point. Second one, without moving anything of the setup (shutter speed, Iso, F) then you put the flashes on and take the shots. Is that correct, man? Thanks!

I’m a big fan of PERPETUAL software like not too long ago back in the days. Buy once, and get updates. Whoever started the subscription idea is a genius to make from millions to BILLIONS having us buy it FOREVER and EVER…this “token” system is even more expensive depending on the volume of images you process a year. And speaking of year, the money you pre pay them on the tokens, THEY EXPIRE. My actual cash money value I paid them doesn’t. Why expire???

Hi James how are you? I love your work! I tried to replicate this kind of shoot , as far as lighting is concerned. So I had the camera on continuous shooting, but it took about two pictures with flash, and then the rest of them were dark. Most of the lights weren’t firing. I tried to use the same settings as you mentioned. . May ask for your assistance here? Am I missing something? Thanks so much in advance.

There is a limit to how fast your strobes can recycle. You'll need to consult what you're using, power settings and recycle time to determine the number of frames per second you can set your camera.

With the R5C, you don't hit the cable when you flip the LCD. This was a nice surprise for me after the R5. What I wish in the R5 MKII is no overheating in 8K-RAW 60fps. Because I don't want to make a step back from the R5C. 16 stops DR would be awesome. The only reason why Canon didn't give us CLOG-2 was the lack of DR, with 16 steps they will have to give us CLOG-2. The killer feature for me would be an internal ND filter. 16 steps DR sounds to me like DGO in the R5ii.

Nice and helpful thoughts! Nice video James! I have a silly question. Did you use R3? And when R3 shoot with strobes at 30 frames per second in electronic shutter, can the strobes be fired at frequency of 20 or 30 times persecond? I know sony a1 cannot trigger strobes at that high frequency, even though the camera can take photo at 30 fps. I wonder if canon r3 can do that. Thanks!

@@QuantzPhoto Yes, it sucks! However, I think almost every mirrorless camera suffers from that in some atypical situations. With the R6MKII it's 5% of the situations that the AF gets lost, and version 2 is 100% better in everything compared to version 1. I hope the R5MKII gives us that advantage.

seems r52 cmos is similar to sony a1 in terms of specs of the stacked cmos. Probably readout speed for 8K video is still above 10ms, since R5c have similar 8K readout speed as sony a1. But for photo, sony a1 is below 4ms while r5c is about 15ms. R52 will probably be around 4ms for photo like a1.

I shoot with a Z9 and Z8. I hope you Canon shooters get an EVF similar in performance to the dual stream technology in the Nikons. With regards to the flippy screen hitting the tether cable, I wish camera makers would put the usbc connection on the upper front left where PC sync terminals used to be. That always seemed to be the least worst place for wire connections staying out of the way.

a pull out tilty lcd is what I really want. The offset off to the side tilting is really annoying. I hate looking off to the side at what is in front of me. C4,5 and 6 would be nice and would be nothing but software. 3 custom modes is not enough. Electronic shutter a varied fps. Sometimes I want a silents shutter at like 5 fps. Again this is only software.

I really want the R1 for sports - currently have the R5, but I'm afraid that if I go down to the sub 30MP size, I won't have enough resolution left after I crop some of my pics which I do very often using a 100-300 2.8, as I love the flexibility compared to a fixed 400mm - I sometimes use the 1.4 extender but do prefer the 2.8. Maybe just buy both and see which will be the better option... then sell the other one... Is resolution the only reason you'd stick to R5-II instead of R1? I'm really trying to figure it out.

Learned something interesting about the Canon R5 on my shoot last week. I used it mounted on top of a remote operated production level video camera on front of a concert stage locked into manual focus. When I downloaded the first set of images the focus was off and I thought I must have just got the prefocus wrong. Nothing in the shot was in focus. After the second show, same result. Come to find out when you power off the R5 the camera resets the lens focus all the way in regardless if you have it in MF or AF. I was setting the camera up, turning it off and then turning it back on just before the show started. Only solution I can find going forward is to go full AC power so the camera doesn't power off or perhaps add the grip back on to get longer life on the battery. So test this out if you ever use it as a remote body on a backboard or anything.

JQP is my hero. Love your work brother. I was a pro photographer in the fashion field. Share your pain. And saw this coming when you could generate more background or add elements that were never there like a dog. The models all became bad and every client would say they would fix it in photoshop. This has not just started with this latest release. As soon as we moved into the digital era and all the housewives became photographers it was the beginning of the end. You needed no skill anymore to be a photographer. One would just look on the back of the camera to see if they’ve captured an image when previously their whole role would’ve been wrecked and would’ve not discovered their errors until The film came back from the lab. This is the progress. AI will create some of the most amazing images ever seen with only a prompt. Get ready for the entire movie industry to be gutted along with any other photographer who has any skill set. The future no one will have to know a single thing about Photography. Everyone carries a camera in their pocket on their phone already. The reason AI is so incredible. It is because it has been trained on the most amazing images that have ever been made, books that have been written, as well as everything else that could ever be known by humanity and every single language you would find it hard to compete against that . Copyright and ownership is a thing of the past. It is the greatest theft of humanity of all time make no mistake that your images have been used to train the AI in someway or another whether you know it or not it uses this very KZfaq video to capture any image it can and all your other videos . Most of all the work that we know of today will be performed by robots using advanced AI. What took days of planning and days of shoot and other days of editing will be condensed into a one minute prompt. Prompts will be corrected until you are satisfied with the result all condensing weeks worth of work into a matter of minutes. Everyone at this point will be a great photographer. People will use their cell phones for the reference of themselves and then create images that never work. It is already happening today. Be clear this is no longer a software issue. A human superstar talent like yourself is now as obsolete as a slide ruler. I own hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of quit equipment that is no longer to make an image. The children have decided that great photography looks too staged and too perfect and prefer something that looks like it was shot with a cell phone to something that was crafted in a studio and well lit . Just think what digital filter has done that makes any girl a model. Adobe is in survival mode along with every other cameraman manufacturer way of Eastman Kodak. The ones that are hardest hit will be the talent that can no longer survive with such an unlevel playing field. When the moms entered the photography business, there was no way to compete for jobs from people who would shoot for free. The same way you will not be able to compete with the AI. My 10-year-old son will be able to produce amazing photo quality images with no photo knowledge whatsoever. All that will matter will be the idea and the shaping of that idea into creating a product that will entertain people for five minutes. The world, as we once knew it within the next five years will have completely vanished. What will be left in its place will no longer depend on one’s talent or years of learning. With infinite supply, the cost of an image will be zero. Creative individuals like ourselves will be able to make images with no work at all. I have had the great fortune to work with many of the top photographers, and what I learned was the only difference between them and any other guy with the camera was the decisions that they made An image is never finished until the artist is completely satisfied. Something new is among us, and it is time to grieve the death of Photography.
