Just bought a used 2022 Outback. I was looking through the instruction manual, and it specifically says not to store the kayak on PVC. Any idea why it would say that? Your storage system looks legit to me. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome, but I have a small mod to your mod to make it even easier and quicker. Instead of all the clips, and clipping to each cart post, then dropping one bungee with clips down a scupper and clipping to other bungee and pulling the bungee up, and repeating for other side, try this: Permanently attach a 1’ piece of bungee with a ring on the other end to each cart post. Then make a Y shaped bungee with 2 clips on the 2 ends. Set kayak on wheels, drop the 2 Y ends down the scuppers and attach each clip to the 2 rings on the bungees attached to the cart posts. Hold the tag end of the Y or attach it to something (chair, D ring…) and lift the kayak. Done. Less clips, less clipping/attaching and detaching, quicker and really easy. 😄 The other benefit is the clips are on the “3rd bungee” (the Y) which allows you to attach it to the car/boat/storage somewhere so as you mentioned at the end, you don’t lose it. The other two 1’ length bungees are permanent on the cart, so you won’t lose them either.

Helpful video, thank you. You might want to delete this video and upload a new one just using soap and water? Seems like the vinegar is not necessary and as other people have mentioned, harmful on good plants - can’t be great for trees/roots either, over time. Why the vinegar? More effective with vinegar? Sounds like we can just do this with soap and water. Meanwhile, asking you or somebody: is Dawn and other soaps eventually harmful for plants/soil? Just seems like it can’t be a great idea to spray chemical dish soap on garden year after year.
@nelsonfelixoutdoors6095
@nelsonfelixoutdoors6095 Ай бұрын
Yes, as soon as I make a new video, I will delete this one. I now only use a 2 parts water to one part soap mixture. I’m not using the dish soap on any vegetable or fruit gardens that I would eat. This is just on trees and shrubbery where the bugs prefer to be in. If you’re worried about the dish soap, then use Castile soap, it’s all natural and chemical free. With such a huge infestation, you only have two choices, store-bought chemicals that are pure poison or soap that you wash your dishes with and eat off of. I’d say the soap is pretty safe but again use Castile soap if you are worried

Will the vinegar destroy or kill the trees and bushes?
@nelsonfelixoutdoors6095
@nelsonfelixoutdoors6095 Ай бұрын
The vinegar will yellow and brown a lot of the leaves. It will not kill any well established trees or bushes. Since the initial infestation, I have now been using a much more diluted mixture without the vinegar. Just one part soap to two parts of water, and it kills them just as well with very, very minimal yellowing of just some of the tips of some young leaves. The initial mixture was to get rid of the thousands I had so I didn’t care much about yellowing leaves at that point. I started spraying the nymphs early summer soon as I saw them with the 2-1 water/soap and now everything is under control.

It probably can if you find a place to anchor the bungees to pull the cart up. But you would probably need specific measurements for the bungees, the ones I make are meant to be used on the rear scuppers and attached to the top of the vantage seat.

No, it does not. It does turn the leaves brown, but that is because of the vinegar. I have since stopped using vinegar and now I just use a soap and water mixture and it kills them the same without browning the leaves. Two parts water to one part soap. You might get a very little bit of yellowing on new young leaves, but that’s about it and the bugs die almost instantly

Thank you. Just FYI, I recently eliminated the vinegar because it does brown leaves somewhat especially on new spring plants. Now I just do a dawn and water mixture, two parts water to one part dawn, so if you get the big jugs of Dawn it’s 2 L of soap to 4 L of water, it does less harm to the plants leaves and still kills those little suckers
