My kids all had BB guns by 6, .22 rifles by 11. They all can feed the family. All my kids fish, hunt, jug snapping turtles, trap. I was raised the same way. Kids being raised in the baxkwoods and farmlands are not the ones doing school shootings. Kids raised in the country have a different view and level of respect for life. My kids can also all run a tractor by age 10. They drive trucks around farm at that age too. Country kids have a curiosity of how things work and want to learn. Great reaction.
