I preferred the Fodera but I wouldn't call it better as that's subjective and my taste changes from day to day. As I was watching it I was aware that I wouldn't be able to tell them apart in a blind test. And where you were cutting back and forth between the two if I didn't see the bass change I wouldn't have caught it was a different bass. I'll assume the trick here was to make the Fodera sound like the Squier as it has EQ and pickup choices. So the Fodera could mimic the Squier but not necessarily the other way around. So Fodera wins the "more" contest. Haha, just realizing this is 4 years old :) A great lesson few are willing to learn from.

Good comparison! My only suggestion is not to be so quick to cut so much low mids, which you did on both amps.

Need an honest opinion please: My early 1980's GK800RB (through 4x10 and 2x10 Hartke - Will Lee's rig). it was the best amp I ever ran. Currently running either a Genzler MG800 or EA iAMP Classic (Lee Sklar's recommendation) and they are pushing either Genzler stack (BA 15-3 under a 210 cab), or Barefaced Six10T, or twin stacked Barefaced BB3s. I have a couple of Spector NS-2 and more than a few Ps and EMBB Darkray, so i know what the basses you are using sound like. My current workhorses are Sadowsky NYC 4-24s... So, the questions: Their Legacy seems to sound very much like the old GK800RB, whereas the Fusion seems to offer all the 800RB does but with a touch of that SVT growl when pushed? Does the Fusion have that same bottom end punch and fullness we love from GK? And the trim, on setup did you let it fully clip then back off just behind the point of breakup? Last, correct me if wrong, the old 800 RB push buttons for contour, low cut, and high boost are now incorporated into the knobs? Thx.

It doesn't surprise me that the 1x12 is the one you want in the studio-- if you take the front baffle off, the driver and port arrangement even looks like that of a studio monitor!

I love my Chapman 5 string with its 4 jazz bass style pickups, 2 at the neck and 2 at the bridge and a cut out switch on the tone control gives me 1 pick up at the neck in the off position and 1 at the bridge or all 4 pickups in the on position. Makes it great for solos as I dont have to touch my settings. The band I play in is s bit of an oddity as we all take solos, guitar, fiddle, keyboards, bass and drums.

I bought one of these...neat compressor, -30db max compression...attack is wrongly printed 0 - 10mls...it is 8mls - 27mls which is perfect...good quality compressor..this is the USA made model, more expensive than the ones with a wide large red stripe & no figures or markings printed around pots...i tried one...this black one is better quality....

My Combustion has a bit of that inevitable brr brr ding bedroom tone even on passive mode. Strangely suited to any genre. Dingwalls cut through a mix like crazy, while somehow staying out of the way and making everything else sound even bigger. My hard rock band's stage sound has never been better.
