Very true. Instead they bottle up what used to be in our fuel in years past and sell it on the shelf. It’s called Stabil😬

Ahh The old champion spark plug cleaner. There great. I see you have the Mk2 AP model A.K.A. "The Pineapple". If I remember correctly that one is capable of cleaning all spark plugs within a 5 meter radius. Definitely a rare find for sure.

Cool machine!! But.. let alone the shop rate; the older engines would foul a plug way before the plug electrodes would erode enough to need a plug replacement. The newer engines and plugs go forever it seems without fouling or needing replacement. So cleaning the plugs made sense back when they would foul and build deposits monthly in some cases, instead of buying new so often. Newer cars like once every 5 years or so. But really cool machine nevertheless!
@PepasGarage26 күн бұрын
No doubt. Vehicles are made much more efficiently now. It’s just a misconception that new vehicles are total crap. There’s just more things to break because of more luxuries. But to get 100k miles out of the old ones was good. Now if you’re not getting 200k you’ve got a clanker. Thanks for watching
@michaelsprague761727 күн бұрын
My brother found that exact same model champion plug cleaner in a goodwill....it was sitting with the coffeemakers, bought it for $9.79. And we use it.
@PepasGarage26 күн бұрын
That’s awesome
@razorsazors27 күн бұрын
It's because shop rate for rebuilding a starter is about double than replacing it. A spark plug is 7 bucks, you can't get a shop to replace your spark plug for 7 bucks, let alone spend ten minutes cleaning your plug. We live in a time where labor is expensive, and parts are cheap.
@meyou335326 күн бұрын
😂😂 I wish. My car OEM plugs are $24 and they dont make an alternative. It has more to do with how sensitive ignition system are these days. These are great for older lawn equipment and thats about it. Even most new small engines take a resistor type plug that has to be replaced.
@PepasGarage26 күн бұрын
Absolutely. And if it’s not double it’s at least close to what new is anyway. So why bother🤷🏻♂️
@locksmith762127 күн бұрын
some cars takes over an hour to get to the plug so by the time you get to them it's better to just put a new ones

Note: Battery install for a close family friend. By no means if there are lights on your dash after installing the battery does it mean you’ve “roasted” anything. Was simply meant as comical. However if there are and you have no idea seek professional shop to help you out.

I just wanted to add that one way to find out your sidewall in Millimeters is to multiply your first number (width) x the aspect ratio number but in decimal form. 265x.65=172.25. That’s your sidewall.
@Mr-ue2ulАй бұрын
65 refers to 65% of the width
@PepasGarageАй бұрын
Correct 👍🏽. I added the x100 part in there but not necessary when doing the math. It ends up being .65 I think the rest is self explanatory 😬

Has anyone stopped to think of how stupid tire sizing is? It is a mix of metric, ratios, and inches. I mean what committee screwed that one up?

Ahaha uhh 😅 not sure. I see your point. And this is just one of the sizing measures. You have others like 33X12.50 instead of 275 etc.
