❤I’m trying to go through and watch all of your videos. I can’t tell you how much motivation you’re giving me! I need to go through my food and kitchen as well. I’m trying to work on not food hoarding. During covid I unfortunately got into a different mindset because of all of the shortages and shutdowns etc. I’m having a hard time reversing my mindset, but it’s slowly getting better. I also live in FL and we’re just coming up on hurricane season when I tend to also keep more food around so I don’t have to brave the stores when everyone is panic buying. I need to find a good balance of having enough extra, but not overdoing it. Thank you❤️

I now ask when someone gives me something they don't need anymore - " Are you totally done with this?" Then I feel free to pass it on when I no longer need it 😊 Anne

I previously labelled everything in my home! I liked knowing that everything had a home and it helped my Daughter know where to put things back where they belong too. I am a lot more minimal now though so have less use for them. I enjoy the style of your videos 🩷

Excellent questions. Decluttering is an ongoing task. Sentimental items are difficult for me as have been the “maybe I’ll need them” items. I am finding it easier to get rid of the “maybe I’ll need them items” by asking when was the last time I used it, do I have a need for it now and would it be easy and not too expensive to get if I did need it again.

I loved your video - very clear and informative. However, just 1 criticism, you said the word "frustrational" a few times, which doesn't exist, the word is "frustratING" 🙈 - Sorry, autistic grammar queen here, and can't help myself!

❤❤❤Just discovered you and right when I needed it most! My husband and I are moving to a new house in a new state after 34 years in the same one! We have both decided we want to become minimalists! The stuff has not brought us happiness, it’s like you said, things can become a thorn in our sides! We have donated and tossed so much and still feel overwhelmed! I love watching your videos and insight! As we start a new life after 50 years of marriage, we plan to take the years we have left and enjoy more nature, more interaction with family and friends and not fill our home with things we don’t need! You are a blessing and joy to watch and listen to! Thank you for being here! ❤

I use clear lunchboxes for my rice, pasta, dried fruit, laundry tabs, and dishwasher tablets, as well as use them for lunches. I never understood the fancy glass tubs with loose lids that you can't use for anything else.

♥ I've never had to label anything, even when I had a lot of excess stuff. I guess I have a good memory for where everything is but even my partner with ADHD gets along just fine. I guess establishing clear homes for everything in the most convenient spot works well enough for us.

I really love how KZfaq allows everyone to play videos at a speed that works for them. You mentioned you speak fast, but I actually play everything at 1.5 speed 😅 the faster the better for me.

I just had a random thought pop in my head, but for anyone decluttering trial sized (or full sized) toiletries and makeup samples that are new but you’re not going to use yourself, please donate them to women’s shelters or homeless shelters. Those makeup samples especially, that you might otherwise throw away can go a long way to help women in shelters to have a little bit of confidence and maybe pamper themselves a bit or to get ready for a job interview etc. Someone mentioned this to me a few years ago when I had tons of hotel shampoos and soaps, free toothbrushes from my dentist, makeup samples from the mall, etc. so I thought I’d share it with all of you.❤️

Please do not donate hotel size toiletries to any woman’s shelters. I learned the hard way that it’s triggering to young ladies that may have be victims of s*x trafficking , or forced into other hurtful activities. I learned that having their own full size products were very liberating:)
@MyCozyLife-Lisa2 күн бұрын
@@karlinebohne789 Hmmm thanks for sharing that. I’ve never heard that before, but it makes sense. The shelters in my area actually encourage the donation of trial sizes so I guess it’s different everywhere.
