How much did you pay for the lumber?
@janetchapman8784
@janetchapman8784 8 ай бұрын
Well, I can tell you that it's probably a lot less now than it was when I did it! When I built this it was during the time when supply issues were really bad and the lumber prices skyrocketed so I probably spent about $200 to build this. It would probably cost about half that now!

Who thought this one up Janet? Of all the ideas I’ve seen (I’m trying to convert a Toyota RAV4 Mk2) This is simply genius, love it, thought I was going to have to remove my rear seats, they do clip out, to make anything work, but this solves all my problems and it’s pure and simple. Take care and stay safe 👍😃

@clifficus So glad you like it!! My friend Gary and I brainstormed this one together 😊. I knew i wanted the car to still be usable quickly if needed so i definitely didn't want to remove seats and this works like a charm! Good luck with your build!! I'd love to see it when you are done!

This is undoubtedly the most simplistic bed frame I have seen! Great job!!!!!

Great to see a conversion with the second row seating left intact.

Yes, thank you! I definitely wanted to be able to just fold the seats back up and have them usable if needed.

Very good Janet. Thank you. I was thinking that in the middle section, instead of a building wooden planks, find some plastic bin to put under. I have seen other ppl do that. It's more stable n give u more storage.

I have seen that as well Albert, but there actually is quite a bit if storage space with this design. By using bags (think backpacks or pack bags) instead of plastic bins I find I can actually fit more. In regard to the stability, it is actually quite strong with the planks.

@@janetchapman8784 Thank you Janet. Awesome, I will consider your suggestion. Just about to work on my conversion. Do do you have any idea of ventilation inside when the weather gets hot?

@@albertc879 I bought screens that go over the doors so you can roll down the windows and still keep bugs out and also found a great rechargable fan on Amazon!

@@janetchapman8784 Do you remember what size and brand for the car screen windows? There are many brands in Amazon and hard to tell which one fits well for the Fit. Thanks!

@@albertc879 Here's the link to the screens I bought. They fit well, but I feel like the bottom wants to slide up a little once on the door so I am planning to put magnets, either a strip magnet or the little round ones in the outside to hold it to the outside at the bottom of the windows/top of the door. They will stick to the door itself. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08FL95VWC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

This is genius. The simplicity is outstanding. I was wondering how to do such a transformation. Thank you from France where the Honda Fit is called the Honda Jazz.
