Hi @R6WoolichCompatech, The process is essentially the same however the harness used to connect to the bike and the communiction interface are different. The tuning packages for the 2024 R1 are shown here: www.woolichracing.com/products/yamaha/yzf-r1/2024/2024-yamaha-yzf-r1-ecu-flashing.aspx#productTable This model uses a Log Box D-CAN v3 and a Universal Harness Type 3 to connect to the red OBD2 connector on the bike, the ECU can then be written by using this harness. It is also possible to bench flash these ECUs, this uses the Yamaha Bench Harness Type 21.

I already do it on my R6 (see my channel: kzfaq.info/sun/PLyTiZJGfrDGwfUKgN3ZqC8vTBbGQoTIHO I already have the Log Box D-CAN v3 (and ZT3/ZR1 to) but what i mean, it's that on R6 2019 for example, i had to flash on first the ECU to be able to read ECU. In R1 2024, your support team told me that "this ECU" can't be read. And this, i don't understant (?) It must be possible to read it with your soft otherwise i can't be possible to change anything, to read parameter, apply autotune... This may be a misunderstanding on my part due to the English / French translation... So, the unique think i would like to know is what is the first action i have to do on first time with R1 ? I have bought a new key (bin file R1 2020 _2024), a Universal OBD2 Type 3 and a Yamaha faisceau bureau Type 21. The bin file is ok on my Woolich account -> so i have access to all option. And then, what is the next step ? need to flash first without any modification to "unlock" the ECU (like done on my R6) ? Thanks for you help. Regards @+ 😉

@@R6WoolichCompatech Thanks for clarifying, now I understand. The 2015/2016 R1 ECUs are not readable from factory, this means that there is no way to read them out via the ECU plugs using the bench or on-bike harnesses. When we write to these ECUs for the first time using the WRT software we enable reading via the ECU connectors, this is why they must be written to before they can be read. The 2024 R1 ECU is very different in that it uses different electronics, different communication protocol etc. There is no way to read these ECUs currently so we can only write to them. Even after writing to these ECUs we still cannot read them. This is due to the way that Yamaha designed the ECU, and has nothing to do with our software. In your feedback you wrote: "In R1 2024, your support team told me that "this ECU" can't be read. And this, i don't understant (?) It must be possible to read it with your soft otherwise i can't be possible to change anything, to read parameter, apply autotune..." Actually this is not quite right - changing maps, applying AutoTune etc does not require read functionality, only write. If you start with a 100% stock bin file the the bike is the same as it was from the factory. You can save this file as a backup in the WRT software, but actually the stock bin file is always available if you have purchased the license (bin file key). This means that you don't need to read the ECU as you know exactly what is in there. As you tune the bike and make changes you make copies of the bin file and save them with different names, then you can always go back a step if you need to. If you want to check the maps etc then you simply need to open the last file that was written to the ECU, this gives you the same information as if you could read the ECU.

@@WoolichRacing ok, it's clear i now i understand what you mean. So yes, my ecu is for the moment stock, the bin file bought is stock to. Before any modification, first i save the stock bin file and next, i work by incremental version of the origininal bin file (with update i want to make. For exemple, want to change fan temp, i take my original bin file, change parameter in the soft, save this bin file (+1) and flash the ecu with it, that right ? And if there is a problem, i can roll back by flashing ecu with the first original stock bin file. Do i have right understood ? Regards Woolich Team

Some ECUs simply cannot be read so we use this process of saving the backup files so that you can always go back to a previous working file is you have issues at any time after flashing a file with some changes. Actually it is a good idea to work like this all the time, the bin file backups do not take a lot of space and can be very useful for troubleshooting, etc. Thanks again for reaching out to us.

The supported products for this model are shown on the page here: www.woolichracing.com.au/products/honda/cbr1000rr/2023/2023-honda-cbr1000rr-ecu-flashing.aspx#productTable The tuning package with the wideband O2 sensor is shown below, this will allow tuning based on air-fuel-ratio (AFR) with the bike EITHER on a dyno or after collecting data while riding on road or track. www.woolichracing.com.au/products/honda/cbr1000rr/2023/851/2017-2024-cbr1000rr-log-box-k-v3-zeitronix-zt-3-wideband-package.aspx The Log Box K v3 collects Engine Data including AFR from the installed wideband O2 sensor, this data is saved to an SD card on the device. After you have ridden the bike you can plug the Log Box into your coputer running the WRT software and then analyse the AFR values for various RPM/TPS etc. These values are compared with target AFR values and the WRT software proposes changes to fuelling in order to achieve the desired AFR. If you accept the proposed changes, they then need to be written to the ECU and you can collect data again. This process might be done 2-3 times in order to get the best performance, the results however are directly applicable to your specific bike so much better than selecting a tune that has worked for someone else. Yes the ability to enable the Race Dash is available in the 2022 model. It is important to note however, this will also disable "street" features such as indicator, horn etc.

The data collected is used with the Woolich Racing Autotune package to adjust the fueling to achieve the desired AFR goals which are based on performance (ie. power), emissions, etc. This package also allows users to view Engine Data in realtime as well as read diagnostic fault codes and clear them using the Woolich Racing Tuned software.

If I purchase your kit for an 2024 mt-09sp would I need a dyno to tune it, or could I tune via data logging on the street or track? I'm looking to tune the bike to a aftermarket airbox and exhaust because I want a nice sounding bike with no dips in the power curve in the mid range rpm zone typically used on the street. I'd also like to play with my preferred AFR to find that balance between MPG and power curve smoothness.

Hi Woolich, i'm Rémy, french Woolich-certified installer. I'm about to receive my new YZF R1 and I saw on the Woolich site that all versions of ECU R1 2020 to 2023 are noted as "Read type: send in to read". Do i have to send the ecu back to Woolich for unlocking and then allow access via the software? On my R6 2019, all I had to do was flash the ecu once to enable reading and modification. What's the situation with the latest R1 models? Thank you for your help and reply. Regards

For the 2020-2023 R1, ECUs only need to be sent in if the part number is not already supported. If this is the case then we read the stock bin file from Yamaha and add support to our Woolich Racing Tuned software. If the ECU part number is already supported then you can write to it straight away, however note that these ECUs cannot be read out, only written to.

The button is a toggle switch. Push once to go in, push again to go out. The engine starts revving when you push the toggle button in and engage the warmup feature. Then when you press it again the toggle goes out and the warmup turns off.

Woolich Racing does not currently offer Race Tools for the 2021-2024 ZX10R, however we do offer support for the Kawasaki stock Quickshifter/Autoblipper using the stock Kawasaki Maps. This then allows modification of the Quickshifter Strength and Quickshifter Time maps which were created by Kawasaki, the maps can be edited using the Woolich Racing Tuned software. This allows the optimisation of the pressure required to initiate a shift as well as the kill times used for shifting, dependent on both engine RPM and TPS and can be mapped separately for gears 1-6.

Currently these ECUs are not readable within WRT, but we hope to add a Read feature in the future. If you have a new part number, this ECU would have to be sent to us to be read out first, then we would add support for it into our WRT software.

If 'read ECU' is available for your specific model, then yes we would recommend that you do this. However, we aim to have the original files available and the software will prompt you in the instance wherein a file is not. In AutoTune, there is a 'Target AFR' Tab at the top, which allows you to enter the target AFR for each fuel cell, and the AutoTune algorithm will calculate the suggested AutoTune map for you, based on the Target AFR's you have entered.

Hi. While editing the secondary throttle table on a b king I accidentally added rpm to the rpm axis so instead of the rpm going being 400rpm apart I have additional values. For example it used to go from 8000rpm to 8400rpm. Now theres values in between 8100 and so on.

The voltages from this testing procedure would still be the same over time. Some slight differences can be seen depending on the bin file that is open during the testing process.

The GSX-S1000, 2015-16, and 17-20 Racetools packages include the Quickshifter, Pit Speed Limiter, and Launch Control features. The Auto-Blipper is not available for this model due to it having a cable throttle, and not an electronic one (ETV) that can be controlled by the ECU.

We don't offer a send-in service as you should have the bike tuned with local fuel and conditions. To do this, either use the Log Box system to AutoTune the fuel maps or you can see a Woolich dyno tuner local to you. Hi, 2WheelDynoWorks use our software to flash the ECU. We provide the stock maps and settings for them to modify in the software, and from there, they build their own tunes and maps for their customers.

Currently adding a Rotrex Supercharger to my Gen 2 Hayabusa (2008),has a Pc on it now but I want to remove it and just tune directly in the ECU, what do I need to purchase? I have an apt set up in 2023 for a dyno session and tune but I need to load the base map supplied w the Rotrex Supercharger and I’d like to be able to learn and tune the bike myself. If possible I’d like to stick w the factory ECU, again if possible. I’d also like to still be able to have multiple MAP’s set up via the A, B,C mode selector built into the bike?

Hey I have a 2009 zx6r with the log box v3 and afr logger I was wonder why in the ignition advance map I can only tune up to 15k rpms but every other map is 17k plus any feed back would be appreciated thanks

The maps that are shown in the WRT software are a direct copy of the maps in the factory ECU. If the factory has only added mapping up to 15k, then that is all that is available. Any RPM above 15k will use the same settings as the last row in the maps, ie 15k ignition values are used for all rpm above 15k.

Our Race Tools quickshifter requires the ECU to be flashed again in order to activate the Race Tools key. If your previous tuner put a password lock on the ECU, then ONLY they would be able to flash it without losing the existing tune. However, if they DIDN'T put a password lock on it, then any tuner with Woolich equipment would be able to read out the current tune on the ECU, preserve that and activate the Race Tools.

It would not be advisable to try and emulate a quick-action throttle electronically by changing the ETV maps. There are many underlying maps in an ECU that aren't exposed with our software, and trying to achieve 100% ETV opening at 40% TPS, while it MAY be possible in some simpler ECU's, will likely interfere with the relationships between the other maps in the ECU. On newer ECU's, we would expect that attempting this could also result in the ECU reaching hidden internal limits which would mean you would not be able to reach 100% ETV at lower TPS values even if you tried. We would recommend purchasing a dedicated quick-action throttle kit in order to meet this functionality.
