I had one and sold it and it was well-made and sounded really nice.. Shaking and spinning the guitar is what amateur players do to show off...

Hey, for that demo I was using a custom amp called a Regal Rocket - a handmade take on a Fender Brownface preamp and an Ampeg reverberocket power section... I dont have it anymore but mainly use a Strymon Iridium for live and at home playing...

My buddy gifted me one of these that he found at a garage sale for $30. It is a little beat up, but that gives it character, and it plays better than most of the high end guitars I've played. Super loose action and thin and skinny neck. I also own a USA 1991 Peavey Predator, and this guitar puts that one to shame!

I've been using it for a good while now, 6 months or so, and here's my honest take. First off, the sound quality is impressive. It's got that warm, rich tone that classical guitars are known for. Plus, it's very nice to look at. I was surprised because of the price point. When it comes to playing, it gets a good grade. Feels comfortable, and once the strings settle, it holds its tune pretty well. Now, the only downside is it doesn't come with a truss rod. Some might find that a bit of a bummer for adjusting. I bought mine on a Black Friday deal, so I'm happy with the value I got. I paid around 30% less than the "normal" price in my country (Brazil) Been strumming away on it almost every day for about six months now, and it's still going strong. So, if you're after a reliable classical acoustic guitar that delivers on sound and looks, this could be a solid choice for you.
@jameshannahguitarАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment - I agree - its a great guitar for the price - Yamaha makes great classicals - I very rarely use a truss rod for adjusting so not a major!

I own a Champion 100 but am very disappointed with the speakers. They have tons of volume but they don't even sound like Fender. I understand they are cheap but my Princeton DSP 65 is also cheap but compared to the Champion 100 it sounds much better. I would like to read some opinions from other owners of a Fender Champion with 12" speakers.

I'm undecided, I don't know whether to buy the champion 40 or the champion 100... apparently they have the same characteristics, right?... greetings
@maotemplar3 ай бұрын
@@ivang.4631 the 40 is ok but not loud enough to gig around with a drummer if you play rock or beyond. The headroom of the 100 is impressive and it seems to have unlimited volume. Both would sound better with a speaker upgrade like Jensen C12k2 or Chicago Mod

@guitartommo27944 ай бұрын
It could be that the neck has moved ( bent over time). I noticed that on an acoustic I had. Look down the length of the neck from the body side and look for bending or angle of the neck. I had some bending and improved the action by straightening the neck by adjusting the truss rod. There are videos on line showing how to make adjustments with an allen key.

@@1peanutI was wondering because I had the Series 1 version that actually had an external speaker jack. That one seemed to be better built for gigging than the Series 2.
@1peanut5 ай бұрын
i have done this mod with almost every little amp i ever owned. I have a 4x12 cab so i just disconnect the internal speaker from the amp then solder a 5 foot speaker cable to the 2 internal speaker wires with a 1/4 speaker jack on the other end to plug into the 4x12 cab. Sometime i drill a hole to run the wire thru the back of the amp. It is amazing how good a cheap little solid state amp can sound thru a decent 4x12 cab. It is fantastic. If you want to get real fancy you can drill a hole in the back of the amp and mount a 1/4 inch female jack. then you just connect the amp and the cabinet via the jacks. I been playing with stuff like this since i was 12 just out of pure necessity. We never had money to by real gear so i had to improvise.
