I feel scared i might cancel surgery because I can only take rwo weeks off work need the pay check to pay bills , I saw this and scared because I need to walk at least one week in a half to go to work, this scared me , Only reason I decided to do it is because my big toe is stuck to my toe which keeps getting me corns on the toe next to it , he removed my corn four times it is painful, he said the big toe is turned to the toe next to it rubs against it so he wants to fix the bunion and the second toe straighen , guess i have two weeks to decide

That pad thing doesn't work. My podiatrist gave me predisone and it worked. Second guy wouldn't give it to me. He suggested surgery. No way am I going to do that. All he gave me was meloxicam which is awful.

NEver do the operation to remove the nerve. It will always develop as a stump neuroma and you will have significantly more pain.

@@mabo4848studies show as many as 50% as soon as a month after the surgery and up to 5 years later develop a painful stump neuroma.. The main issue is it is not just the surgery may not help you but there is a significant chance it will make you much worse. The biology of severed nerves is they will try to grow your entire life and develop a stump which turns into a debilitating condition. The idea of cutting out a nerve is only found in this ridiculous procedure.

What helped me was to wear a different set of air soled shoes. I am in a foot study where they recommended some soles / arch support. I am not sure how much it is helping.

I had Morton neuroma on both feet and surgeries. Then I’ve had bursas there for years and tons of cortisone injections. Maybe a bit to do with wrong footwear when I was younger and additionally too much practical work for a woman with small feet per my height. Up and down ladders, decorating c 150 rooms and other heavy work. I used to love walking/ rambling but now aged 71 I daren’t as these feet have to last a bit longer!

My ankle fusion surgery was only 7 weeks ago. My cast was removed 4 days ago and I am now in a supportive boot & use crutches. I must admit, right now, my ankle is very swollen & uncomfortable. I am severely restricted and am unable to drive. I cannot weight bare. HOWEVER, I know that after years of pain & restricted activities, I am on my way to a much better lifestyle. I just need patience, patience, patience. The post operative ladies in this short film are thankful & relieved of discomfort. That’s where I want to be in due course. This film has lifted my spirits.

I started with symptoms in my left foot about 18 months ago while on holiday. I initially thought that i had trodden on something. Fast forward to the present and i am in pain whenever im on my feet. I limp everywhere and it is starting to have an adverese effect on my whole leg and my mental state. Working out is very painful but without that in my life my mental health is worse. Tomorrow i am phoning my doctor in the UK to try to get a private appointment with someone. The broken NHS is telling me it will be August before i am seen. Frankly i cannot cope with that. I hope they can cure me. I just want to get my life and fitness back. I miss the pleasure of pain free walking and running. Thankyou for the video doctor.

My heel pain started after I lost 50lbs in 4months. Then I started walking on the treadmill, my feet didn't like that. I wonder if rapid weightloss also causes heel pain?? Never had heel pain until I lost weight and I have been exercising for years. But because of Pandemic...I took a break.

Unlike the RN who commented on here who seems to resent not getting recognition I only remember the adrenaline rush and then afterwards feeling humble. I've never felt the need to be recognized for doing what I was trained to do. My most heartbreaking experience was stopping at a bad car accident and the man and the woman's body on the ground several feet apart. Me and another nurse started CPR as soon as I did compressions blood started gushing out her ears and we knew she was dead. However we were trained to not stop CPR until an authorized person told us to. Meanwhile the man regained Consciousness and had to be restrained because he kept trying to crawl to his girlfriend's body and he was hurt severely but completely out of control. He kept calling her name over and over. When you do something like this adrenaline his and it's not until a couple hours later that reality sets in and your emotions take over.
