There's nothing special about a brake job so 150 per axle is overcharging the customers, specially because it don't even take an hour to perform the job.

You’re not only paying me for what I do, you’re paying me for what I know. Also, as a mobile mechanic, you’re paying for me to come to you and do it where it is no matter the weather.

I live in the rust belt(Quebec) shit get insanely rusted here. No anti seize on my rotor. I just apply some PB blaster around the studs holes and into the center, leave it for a couple of hours while it bakes in the sun and do its thing. Two 6lb light hits and boom its off, its really that easy just let pb blaster work its thing

Brakes, just pads and rotors, is one of the few jobs that I can still perform on my own car. So when it comes to the wheel end of the brakes, I will do it. If it is an ABS problem, I have to see the mechanic.

In Missouri, labor at a Chevy dealership is $210 obviously with parts it is considerably more. Usually $525-650ish for pads/rotors depending on vehicle type

Looks like quality work with quality parts, at that point the price is justified IMO.

Any thoughts about using a 10W40 non synthetic oil for a high mileage E46 that burns some oil?

Where do you jack from so that you can use the pinch welds for your stands? Near the end of the video it looks like your floor jack is near the control arm?

When you compressed the calipers you didn't open the bleed valve? I thought that wasn't good for abs brake systems.
@AndyTheXTech
@AndyTheXTech 2 күн бұрын
I did not. If you do it slow it’s fine. But if your worried about it then open the bleeder screw when compressing it. It’s not a bad idea. I just don’t do that all the time.

No hate bro but ur talkig about quality , i noticed u didn pinch the caliper hose and opened the bleeding valve so the old fluid in the caliper will b remove , that a procedure needed on car with abs , windings caliper back like u did could cause back pressure on the abs module and damage seal ect , just saying again no hate

I got my tie rods replaced yesterday and they used anti seize on the jam nut threads, so at least Firestone has it on hand and maybe throws some on if they do your brake rotors. I didn't have them do mine because I did it myself for cheaper, but still.
