The use of the term Christian Nationalism as a slander towards Evangelicals and Catholics seems odd when you consider the political activism you find in Progressive Churches. The imposed meaning for Christian Nationalism which has become so prevalent is rarely challenged, but before surrendering language to those using it for the purpose of character assassinate, a reassessment is in order. Thomas Jefferson was not merely a deist, he attended weekly services, and devoted years of his life compiling the moral teachings of Christ in a chronological volume. This speaks immensely as to the influence the Christian faith had even among the Deists. In the Declaration of Independence Jefferson wrote: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”. Jefferson, the “wall of separation” president, claimed that our rights come from God, and that governments are Instituted, not to grant rights, rather to secure those rights which come from the Creator. Not only do governments lack the authority to grant rights, but their power is limited by those whose rights they secure! Under communism rights come from the state, and any moral authority which challenges the will of the State must be reined in. This can be done by framing its doctrines as hate, banning religious materials, or through regulation. The true Christian Nationalist is likened to China’s three-self patriotic movement. While terms like Sinicization of Christianity are not used in the west, it does not mean attempts aren’t being made to Nationalize Christianity. The 2024 revision of the United Methodist Church’s Social Principles no longer focuses on the core tenants of the faith, instead they now mirror the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The doctrines that define the faith have been replaced with climate change, environmental racism, food justice, colonialism, euthanasia, reproductive health, restorative justice, migration, and gender identity. In December 2023 the Chinese Communist Party released their new five year plan for the Sinicization of Christianity. The following is a translated statement from that document: “19. Reinterpret the concept of social services from the perspective of the Sinicization of Christianity, and actively participate in social service work in the fields of medical and health care, helping the disabled and the poor, post-disaster relief, epidemic prevention and control, and environmental protection in accordance with the law, and establish a good image.” Like in the People’s Republic of China we are seeing the development of two radically different Churches in America. A Church which mirrors the goals of the State, and a Church committed to the long standing doctrines of the faith. The later is under siege in both countries! The former is where you will find the Christian Nationalist. The end goal of the Christian Nationalist is to remake Christianity in the image of the State, to nationalize it. Thus any higher authority which challenges the States end goals must be controlled or eliminated.

I found out that we have to feel pain so we don't want to experience it again. But when we experience pain we go to God to help us. If we don't experience something, how would we know it can get better? We have to crawl before we walk. We have to walk before we run. When we run we fall. But if we didn't experience the crawling, the walking and we wouldn't experience pain if we didn't learn how to run. Things happen to us for a reason. It's to feel. God heals us. God gets rid of the demonic people in our lives. God heals us. God shows us the way. God is our flashlight when we get lost in the dark. God saved me more than once. God got rid of the negative evil people in my life. I'm here today because if God. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. Amen 🙏💖

They all seem to have forgotten that Jesus teaches us to hate the sin and love the sinner. If you hate the sinner they will never see the love of God. But that doesn't fit with their narrative, you can't love people and be a bully at the same time. For some reason that just doesn't work.

You gave two stories, but you leave out that there could be 3, 4, or 5 stories, something in-between those two stories you told. I am not a Christian Nationalist, but I am a Christion and a Patriot. Governments are the servant of God Rom. 13:4 and need to give God the Glory. In Dan. 4:34 the King realizes God deserves the Glory. The United States was created by God and our U.S. Constitution proclaims Jesus as "our Lord" Article VII. God uses the saved and the unsaved to perform His will. Our Constitution grants freedom of religion, so you can worship or not worship whatever you want, but we are non-the-less a Christian Nation. Christian does not equate with Saved by the New Birth, so I would agree only people can be Save by the New Birth. But a Nation can honor God if they so choose.

No, not all God's children are hypocrites --- Church folks in the big city at church after church are standoffish and constantly lie to newcomers and to themselves. It is anti-Christian and stupid and disgusting. Seminaries are a scam. Jesus described BELIEVERS who are not FOLLOWERS as hypocrites. He was only talking about Believers in the Word of God being hypocrites.

I have been a Christian for many years and am exploring the meaning of Christian nationalism. It was mentioned that a county cannot be Christian, only people can be Christians. Question: Is Israel a Jewish state? Is Sadie Arabia a Muslim county? Is China a Communist county? Etc.

It is so refreshing to hear someone speaking the truth about American history. Our country is not and never has been a Christian nation even if the majority is Christian. You are indeed right, a country can not be Christian but people can. The Puritans and the Pilgrims wanted to create a theocracy but they were not among the Founding Fathers. Neither were the Native Americans, the Spaniards in the Southwest, the French in Louisiana, nor the Russians in Alaska. The Founding Fathers founded our nation with no state religion or an establishment of religion of any kind. It is scary to hear people proclaim that we were always a Christian nation because the Founders were devout Christians who founded America on the Bible. It is scary because it is not true but apparently millions think it is true and they feel persecuted that they can not force their version of Christianity on the rest of us. Thank you from a lifelong student of history.

The proper duty of government is irrelevant to how such a government was founded. If you are confused that the purpose of the State should be to promote the role of the Church in a proper Church-State relationship, then you should probably read St. Justinian.
