Barre chords are without a doubt one of the biggest challenges for me - I know several of them already, but forming and switching between them is challenging... one song that helps to practice whilst feeling like one is making progress is Hotel California that switches between a Bm and an F#, but yeah still a struggle - this video has been great though - I think that your tips are great - and I am going to watch the second on shortly. Oh, and an Am6 is another stretch that I really struggle with... but it's fun to learn - I started about 8 months ago - I am 62... 😂

Hi Ellen a question for you on the song Ho Hey are you strumming all 6 strings ? I noticed on the chord chart for the C/F chord there is no O can you explain why ? I am only a beginner and love your videos. Do you have a free download of the words and chords ? or so I can print it off please. As I am learning the chords to this cool song. Lisa

Hey Ellen. I see myself in 4 years time having a baby taylor guitar because its the one and only acoustic guitar of my dreams. I like your baby taylor a lot its one of my favourite guitars to see everyday on your Taylor Tutorials Channel and I myself I'm a super fan of Taylor Swift

Make sure your ring and pinky fingers are scooched up as close to the 3rd fret wire as you can get them and that should clear up the sound! 🙌🏼

It sounds like you may not have calluses formed yet. 🤔 Basically it’s normal to have some fingertip or index finger pain when playing or barring chord shapes, but if you practice in little chunks throughout the day and are consistent in doing it every day, your skin will harden a little bit and the pain will go away. 💪🏼

That percussive hit has been a challenge for me in the past but I like that you've described it as having a sliding down of the palm. That's helpful because I was trying to figure out who to get the mute and the strum at the same time, it didn't click that the palm can slide. Thanks so much!
@for3v3rfaithful2 күн бұрын
I’m so glad I mentioned that then! 🙌🏼 Yes, having the side of your palm kind of slide down the strings a little as you percussive strum definitely helps get that chuck sound easier. 🎸🎶 So happy it’s working for you now, and thanks for watching my tutorial! 🤗
