Looks a fantastic shoot and you can tell it is very wet underfoot when the Polaris is reversing up the hill! 😄Great to see the dogs working away in the background, too.

Her length of pull is too long. She's having trouble getting the gun up in one fluid move. She has to reset her cheek

Bens fitted more guns than you have had hot dinners. I am sure her gun is fit correctly

I have mixed feelings regarding Mr Husthwaite, but that comment is quite appropriate. The movement, the feeling and the technique can all be perfect, but you can still miss because you slightly misjudge the bird, be it lead or be it line. Quite right
@AdamsClayPigeonGuide5 ай бұрын
What he meant was, the method was perfect, it was just the lead that was wrong.

Great video - in the US we get mostly “Move-Mount-Shoot” instruction which seems to amount to Slide mount method. IMHO it helps new shooters who tend to premount get away from that as their default. In the past several months I’ve tended to go toward the bayonet style for quartering birds, chandelles, and rabbits. I didn’t know what that was called until seeing this video. But, I still tend to use MMS/slide on long crossers, mainly because I have more clay flight to adjust for speed and lead. Should I just go ahead and try to adopt bayonet for every bird?

so true, i was a. very smooth slider maintained shooter, and i moved to ben method after 20 years sliding. Now i shoot premount, bayonet with pull away and swing through and won major shoots with it. Am a believer ...
