@@JeromeDeane treat yourself! it’s a wicked bike indeed. Haven’t had any drawbacks on how the bike rides at all. It’s one of the most enjoyable bikes to ride that I’ve owned, does everything extremely well. Pro and con is the headset routing. More challenging to work on but looks great in my opinion and another one is the battery needs to be removed to charge it. Which I like as a removable battery means I can ride it with or without the battery and the frame looks super clean with no charging port.

@@fernandom6811 thanks! It’s got much more power up the hill that’s for sure. The SL is the best of both worlds rides like a normal bike but gives you the assistance up the hill. The JAM rides like a proper e bike. It’s heavier more planted but overall a super fun and nimble e bike on the trail. I ended up buying a sam2 6.0 and a jam SL 8.8 myself. @@BrennoMac93 Thanks! Very dependant on what I’m riding! The Sam is unbeatable for uphill technical trails/power stages and descending as fast as I can. It’s a race machine! @@bobcar1972 personally I would get a small as I prefer smaller bikes. The full powered e bikes are already super stable so I go for a more manoeuvrable bike. My SAM2 is a size small but my JAM SL is a medium as it’s lighter and the rear end length is short so it’s quite playful.

Would also love to know about the bike looking at an XL so will be heavy. How are the Mavic Dee max rims holding up? Or are they in need of instant replacement of DT 511 or FR541s. Rear shock is a let down too no DHX2
@dstone2011
@dstone2011 2 ай бұрын
The wheels have held up quite well. Conti Downhill casing front and rear and no inserts. I’ve dented the rear rim but was entirely my fault on a super rough trail and poor line choice. The dhx is a good shock. A dhx2 would definitely be better. I’ve over sprung mine to around 26% sag. It’s helped the bike carry speed. I’ve not felt the need for a high speed compression or rebound control on it. I have upgraded the shock to have a LSC dial on it. Has helped it not wallow in the back end.

So I also just finished a 50km loop AND I have the bosch motor with the 750wh battery. I still had 43% left when I got home but at least half my ride is flat tarmac paths to get to the woods. I typically use Emtb mode when I'm offroad and save Turbo for the big climbs. Maybe I'm not getting after it enough 🤷 I'm pretty jealous of your local trails, they look sick! 👍

That’s awesome! Could go all day at the local woods. Where I am it’s all hills from my front door. There’s about 5km of bitumen in the loop I did and around 1800m of vert. I used mainly turbo and race mode this ride so I wasn’t very conservative on the battery. Pretty spoilt for trails, they’re just bone dry, dusty and slippery most of the year 😂

Great looking bike. I have a 2022 model. I changed the headset to a normal one without internal cable routing to make it easier to change head stem bearings. I notice there is no option with the new frame to run external cables, no holes and grommets in the frame. Was not a fan of the internal cable routing. Looks good, but not practical. What is the rear shock?
@dstone2011
@dstone2011 5 ай бұрын
Rides as good as it looks too. I love the neatness of the headset routing but It will make changing the top bearing harder at some point. Luckily they see less dirt and mud than the bottom bearing. Benefit of the headset routing is how easy it is to get outer gear cables and brake hoses through on a new build. Head tube holes are massive compared to grommets. Took me no time at all to build one of my bikes up from a frame. Shock was a fox dps. Worked well.
