I had a liver and white field grade Springer. She was the best dog I've ever had.

@@k9s4happiness Mine was as well-behaved as you would want but she once brought a bird into the house. I let her in the yard to relieve herself and she came into the house with a bird in her mouth. Apparently, she found a bird that probably couldn't fly due to an injured wing and scooped it up. Or she may have got ahold of a bird that was sleeping.

What is the name/brand of the roll type treat you were using ?

@@dianenorthup11 The rolls are called "Lucy" and you can get at Pet Stations. Missed you in class. Hope you aren't discouraged. Dogs are always loudest at the first class.

Your dog was impressive today. I focus on my dog 100% in the ring so can't interact with humans. The video I wanted you to watch kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ic6qiNyWttOtY2g.html Reward your dog for looking at the 'trigger' not barking and looking back at you.

@@k9s4happiness Thank you. I’m a little intimidated by how well behave the other dogs are. We’ll get there though.

Always film where there isn’t an echo. Otherwise great information. Here because my two dogs got attacked. Luckily I stopped them with a firm and loud stop and blocking with my body.

Lol at the ending. Have you ever had to use any of these and how successful was it? I carry pet corrector which annoyingly falls out of my vest, and pepper spray which I’d hate to use, but better than having my pitbull kill the loose dog. I like the kibble idea and the poppers. The other tool is too large to be practical with my three dogs that need individual control. Also, can I ask what vest you’re wearing?

Rmp1809 yes, these deterrents work. The caps are very effective. Scares away most dogs immediately. The vest is from leerburg.com

It is useful to use this technique to mark a certain behavior in training, I use it myself in some parts of my FCI obedience training. I have a rehomed male dog who was only clicker trained his first year. I have trained him my way in four years and achieved the highest level of obedience . I made an important discovery the other day when I introduced the clicker for him again after a long brake, for detail training an exercise . He became unfocused and began to drool , the only thing he thought about was the food and not on what we really was doing. I had to work realy hard to remind him to focus on me and the work, not the reward.

how old is your dog & how hungry? I haven't used clickers for a long time- and wondering if you have to keep charging it or if the shaping holds. i have an 11 year old poodle who's well behaved, still very active, but doesn't have as strong a heel as she should considering that i walk her off lead almost all the time. Have you worked on senior dogs?

Pupscouts...you clearly did not watch the entire video, as the jumping ceases toward the middle and end of the training session. k9s4happiness - great work. this was so informative and fun to watch. I look forward to trying something similar with my dog.
