Cutting these boards releases fine particles in the air which can irritate the lungs I've heard.

I removed the joystick from my elite controller. Or so i thought i did. Desoldered, but looks like there is still some soldet left. No mattet how much i, heat, i add flux, solder wire. Nothing. The suction pump is not sucking as mucb as it should. Ive wathed videos and not sure what im doing wrong. I bought a different solder suction and nothing. Could it be i need a hotter soldering iron. Mine goes up to 400 degrees.

Doesn't having both sides be transparent instead of one side diminish the intensity or number of reflections your infinity mirror creates? Or do you just turn up the brightness of the lights to compensate?

You still have to clean noclean flux, the "noclean" part just means that any residue after it dries won't damage the PCB.

thanks for making this feel super comfortable initially, im going to start looking into console modding for those without options that dont include soldering some of the more obscure consoles only have mod chips or ode's that require soldering, also hdmi replacements for the old video ports.

My motorcycle has a wire that needs to connect 2 electrical wires together. Is this resin core solder what I should use
@HowDoYouDIY
@HowDoYouDIY 14 күн бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. For your need, crimp connectors should work fine, but soldering them (with rosin core solder) would be more secure. Make sure you use heat shrink tubing on them to protect the connection.

Rule one: never rely on solder for mechanical strength. That's the short version.

I use a product called chipquik that consists of some low melting point alloy that you replace the original soldr with. It works very well for lead free joints - parts sometimes fall out where previously there was a battle royal to remove them. Flooding the join with leaded solder can also help in a similar way. Chipquik is a real game changer where silver lead free solder is encountered.

😅 I spent a whole day trying to stick wires with solder to a plug that would just unstick every time. How I managed to stick it without knowing this in the end is a miracle considering it was an ebike. Thanks I think every one who solders without flux needs to see this. Thanks! 👍

Having just tried to do this (hollow out end grain on some logs to make a water feature) I can say Forstner bits dont work on green wood. Hence I came online to find a better way to do it. (probably fine if your logs are dried out though) I made some progress using the small Forstner bits but it would take forever with the small ones. The large bits just dont grab properly on wet end grain. Wish i still had my angle grinder and carving disc! (but its in storage miles away). However for any one else looking to hollow out end grain on green wood id highly recommend one. (but again you will be limited by in terms of depth by how far you can get the angle grinder in)

use your double effect but put ACRYLIC BLOCK in the middle ..this will light up and create a infinity block effect .. BUT ADD LED lights inside the walls of the acrylic block and turn it on then turn on the leds for the infinity mirror

As a professional glazer, I would use a drill bit designed for glass. Drill one hole in each corner then score the glass and continue as shown on this video. To remove the piece easily you need to score the glass diagonally from corner to corner and heat as shown. You will not get a perfect 90 degree corner but you could use a square stick wrapped in sand paper to square up the corner.

Most important is to get a quality wick. I learned this the hard way. The wick i had would not even suck a low temp solder! Even with flux added. Pure garbage basically! Use quality wick and it will work just like in this video!
