My favourite trope has to be the protagonist trying their best and maybe even doing everything right but still ending up losing one way or another. An example of this would be Brad Pitt’s David Mills in Se7en.

Well... do YOU think sais are blades?
@quadzxy26 күн бұрын
yeah
@mckayleavitt762125 күн бұрын
they ain't. they're like batons. i don't know how this idea that sais are knives came about, probably from stuff like TMNT that have severely americanized foreign concepts and prefer to bridge gaps with simpler explanations. Sais are way cooler than that! They're for catching weapons, and parrying, and the fact that they have no blade means they need little to no maintenance. They were traditionally used as police (samurai) implements for disarming and detaining without outright killing. You might be like okay wow, I thought I was a nerd, that's just cringe bro, but this is what it's about-- exploring parts of our human heritage that we've forgotten the truth of. I do like the overall point you're making, but it does make the whole point about three "blades" in one weapon aligning with the rash hothead of the group kind of silly, don't you think?

Idk, i just watched Kill Bill 1 and 2 for like the fifth time last night. I love Tarantino's movies and yet you'd be hard-pressed to find any moral truths communicated through them. Same with a movie like Melancholia or Green Room or No Country for Old Men. For sure, those movies have themes and you might even say messages, but they're not exactly offering moral instruction.
@quadzxyАй бұрын
I think those are moreso the types of movies where you observe, and its meant to leave you with a question, like the way No Country For Old Men ended, in an unexpected way, but it suits the message, that maybe it's not worth the hassle, and that some situations you should stay out of. Enforced by the title: No Country For Old Men.
@quadzxyАй бұрын
I haven't seen Melancholia or Green Room but i've seen the Kill Bill Movies. Same thing with those, big themes of revenge; It starts with her surviving a hit attempt, and the opening scene after that is her speaking to Vernita Green- one of the assassins, about how she needs to get "even steven" with her, (which would be by killing her, her daughter, and her husband.) Which is exactly what they did to her.

I could care less about symbolism there was a time when people watched movies and shows for entertainment not stupid hidden messages those times need to come back as entertainment should be entertainment not philosophy.
@quadzxyАй бұрын
Its still entertainment just with some more purpose and intent is all. Storytellers would rather their work to have some meaning instead of being empty shells. Even if you don't pick up on certain things, or anything... it's still Entertaining. (but early civilizations told stories as warnings too, so the time you talk of; im not sure it exists.)

I for one loved this game as a kid and as an adult. However, lego marvel superheroes 2 is arguably a bit weaker. Mostly because a lot of tedious side quests and the vehicles have atrocious maneuverability. I mean, the vehicles are horrendously slow and are crappy in vehicle challenges. Plus, you cant even accelerate anything, and the flying car lola has no trigger to allow the car to fly. Atleast thats not the case for certain vehicles in lego marvel 1. Plus, ghost riders hell cycle was superior in lego marvel 1 compared to lego marvel 2. But i really still like lego marvel avengers a lot, sure, its still limited, but atleast you can use vehicles better, and the levels are movie scenes which i love.
@quadzxyАй бұрын
amen to that. especially the ghost rider bike thing
@giyuutomioka6974Ай бұрын
@@quadzxy yeah. Although what I would have loved to see, would be a ghost rider version of any vehicle. In the movies he can use his powers to charge up vehicles into a hellish version of it but when he's in his human form, it reverts back, similarly to the robbie Reyes version from agents of s.h.i.e.l.d show, in which his vehicle is some kinda charger I think, and when he goes into ghost rider mode, it turns into an epic hell-charger. You can't say that wouldn't be cool to see in the lego games.

I would like to issue an apology for how trash this video is. The utter negligence I've demonstrated in this in both accountance of story details and through my lack of competence shines through. From this point on, I will pack 100% effort into my videos. May my next one be a demonstration of if I have kept my word. May I be judged by the quality of my fruits, if they be rot or ripe. This text may come off as comedic, but I assure you that I am serious on this. Sorry. I will try again.

Arrakis is the name of the Planet, whereas the invading faction is House Harkonnen. the old lady is the Reverend Mother of the Bene Gesserit, with no blood relation to Paul. also, the way the shields work is that only slowed projectiles can enter, so things have to slow down to penetrate the shields, they weren't developed by the Fremen either, I think it was part of the Harkonnen invasion. the blue eyes (eyes of Ibad) result from prolonged spice exposure. but apart from that, I get what you mean about the technology clearly showing its purpose from the moment it appears.
