any tips on how to avoid getting scammed? im scared that if i agree to have them pay a deposit, they wont make the final payment after i send the artwork
@renamonet3332 ай бұрын
Whenever I begin a project, I will state all of my requirements beforehand, usually stating when the piece will be complete so they’ll know when they need to pay the second half. Make sure they agree to the terms. Once I’ve completed the artwork, I’ll send them the second invoice for the final payment with an email letting them know it’s completed. I don’t send the artwork until the invoice is paid!

Your doing it the right way. Too much time with people will bleed out your creativity and inspiration. Just get out there enough for some interaction but jump away when your gut tells you. I'm much like you. I'm 45 yr old man. It's difficult when young to be a reclusive artist but it is much easier and more productive when you get older. Your Art comes first😘

Exactly. There’s a lot that can be accomplished in isolation but I’m trying to change my perspective and see the value in making friends (especially creative ones) !

Thanks a lot for your video! It’s nice to see someone in a similar situation. I’m 23, I moved back to my parents’ home after graduating college to think about what I want to do, to save some money and to improve my art skills to actually find a job. I really like my hometown and my house, I love my pets and, um, my family can be cool sometimes too. But I guess I should move out soon, because sometimes my parents’ behaviour is not quite healthy and I probably won’t be able to change it. But like you said, it’s better to focus on what we can do. So I’ll try to appreciate my time here, and then I’ll go to the next stage.

Thank you for watching! I understand how parents can be stuck in their ways. I hope you can find enough peace while you’re there to focus on your growth and prepare yourself for your art career. Best wishes to you on your journey ♡

this is such an uplifting video - im in my second year at uni for illustration and have no clue what i want to do when i graduate, and building a career from scratch while also making enough to live off seems so scary. i think i want to move back in with my parents but the point you made about boundaries is so poignant, it really stresses me out when i go back because they want me to adjust to their routine rather than let me do my own thing!
@renamonet3334 ай бұрын
It’s good you’re thinking about all this now! I understand how stressful and scary it can be to not know. Continue to focus on school and your craft! Sometimes you don’t know until you step out into the “real world”. If you do decide to move back with your parents ~ let them know what your expectations and needs are of them and of the situation and ask what do they need and expect from you. Have this conversation as many times as you need until you’re on the same page! And then you both need to trust and give each other a chance to prove it! Give yourself time ♡

26 and living with my parents too, loved the video - feeling heard! My parents became good friends over time, I love being able to live with them, they are the best roommates I could ask for. Sometimes I feel pressured by outside sources to move out, but I realized over time that I have a pretty sweet gig going on for myself. I love being able to fix stuff at home, cooking food for the family and having those that I love the most close to me. Maybe I will move out someday to pursue starting a family of my own but until then this is as good as it gets. Rambling a little here but glad this popped up on my page
@renamonet3334 ай бұрын
I love that you’re treating your parents as roomies! I’m sure that can only come from a place of understanding and mutual respect. It’s a mature perspective that you have and I’m sure your parents appreciate all that you do for them! I completely feel you. There are so many outside sources telling us what we’re supposed to do but you’ll know when you’re ready. Thank you for watching and good luck to you!

Congrats! Its always nice to be able to recollect back at home base once you've stepped into the world on your own. Ain't no shame in spending time with the good ol folks cause things are always temporary and time flies mad quickly. I wish I had a close relationship with my folks and is able to move home but that shipped sailed so long ago. Shout out to you for being vulnerable and showing people that it can be a positive if boundaries are set. With that being said, your art will evolve with peace of mind. Much love from Chi

I asked, coz I want to set it as payment first, but I don’t know if it’s safe for those who retract their payment after they receive the finished artwork.
