They could do this as soon as they are able to hold their breath for more than 20 seconds. This is mostly achieved from about age 3.5/4 years. How old is your child?

What do you recommend doing for a child (he’s just shy of 2yrs) who hates having water dumped on his head? We do this in the bathtub and he always gets upset when water gets in his eyes. Thank you!
@TheSwimTeacher11 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment. I would stop putting water on his head and instead start to teach him to put his own face in the water. Start small with first closed lips, then nose then eyes. My little girl is 2 and this is what we practice with her. I will make a video for you this week and share so please keep checking 😀 I hope this helps

thanks for posting such amazing video😍i’d like to know the temperature of the water you use during the bath swimming training?
@TheSwimTeacher11 күн бұрын
Hi thank you for your comment our bath is normally between 32-34 degrees. This I find is the most comfortable temperature for babies this age. Of course if you live in a warmer climate you could make the water cooler but I would stick to a minimum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius. I hope this helps

Hi there, How are you? I sow your videos, your video quality is good but not properly SEO. Your SEO score is very poor. That's why your channel is not growing organically. SEO means Search Engine Optimization. I think you understand, for views, subscriber and comments your video should be rank on top of the KZfaq, Proper SEO that means keyword session ( low competitor keyword selection) can help your channel to ranking on the top. Thank You

hello! these are great! how long (days/weeks/months) should you practice the conditioning phrase with them before finally dipping them underwater? We've always made sure to pour water over our babies head at bath time since birth, but we didn't add in a phrase until a couple weeks ago. She is 9 months now. Thanks!
@TheSwimTeacher10 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and for your comment. I would say to practice until your little one closes their eyes and mouth on the word go then you know they are ready to be taken under water. Usually it takes 6 weeks but all children are different so take your cues from your little one. Good luck 🤞

My 21 month old baby doesn’t want to kick. How can I help him? Any tips? Thank you
@TheSwimTeacher11 ай бұрын
Hi apologies for the late reply. So the best thing you can do for your little one is to just repeat repeat repeat, and make it a fun game. When my toddler didn’t want to kick I would try to pretend that I didn’t want him slashing me in the face with water from his feet. I made a big thing about it. So he kicked so much in order to splash me. I also like to do races which is also a way to encourage them to kick in order to beat you. Also plenty of praise when they do kick. Good luck I hope this helps

How do we know if they are holding their breathe if their mouth is open?
@TheSwimTeacher Жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for your comment. That is a really god question. So when they are holding their breathe, even when the mouth is open a type of air lock bubble occurs in the mouth which stops water going in. The moment they try to inhale or exhale this then pops. Try to hold your breath with your mouth closed then whilst holding your breathe try to open and close your mouth. You will see what your child experiences with their mouth open😊
