If you want to see REAL HORSEMANSHIP skills applied to the taming and training of Mustangs…visit KZfaq channels: Sam Van Fleet, Clever Cowgirl, Ryan Rose, Pear Tree Ranch. This guy is WAY out of his range. Sad for these beautiful horses to experience human contact this way.

Interesting. Not sure how or why it would cause a horse to pull back, but I will ask around on that!. In this horses case it was poor foundation training,

I'm not sure why you would or should. This horse for years no one has been able to approach with a flag without being attacked. He has been to some 'FAMOUS" mustang trainers without this level of success. So feel goo that you saw success after years and many attempts and failures to help settle and very troubled horse. Better yet, you should be sharing your skills on KZfaq so others can learn your ways. No?

I can see both horse exhibiting the restraint on biting you. I too have an older horse (12) that is a very kind soul BUT, was definitely a pasture pet for most of her life. However, she is calmer under saddle. The problem with her though is getting that far. There are MANY areas she does not tolerate being pet and she also HATYES giving her feet. I have worked with her daily on this and she is not budging. Are you by chance ever in Idaho?

Am I understanding this is day 9 with a wild mustang? He is beautiful first and a nice eye. Second, he is doing wonderfully. Very nice. He seems awesome, but it can’t only be that he’s special. It must also be because you do an amazing job with body language, voice, and demeanor. Patience and reasonable ask of what you want from him. Very nice to watch. Wish I had been around more people like this when I was younger, even now as an adult.

Well, here's the story. This girl adopted a 4yo WILD MUSTANG 4 years ago and they could not get close to it. They called me for help. So I got him caught, settled, haltered and did some ground work , all in just a two day visit. She was determined to do the rest herself. I think as things go, life got in the way, the horse was put on the back burner. Now, 4 years later, they could get him caught and lead him around a bit but wanted to really make the effort to get him gentled and even ridden. So they called me again. This time I suggested getting committed to a program, take him step by step to the end result, getting him ridden. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bLSoqMx80827f30.html

Hello. I have a question for you. I have an 11 year old arab mare and although she is incredibly sweet, she came to me even more spoiled. She is snotty and always pins her ears regardless of the bond we have formed or where I am tou8ching that she is also used to. She was kept as a pasture pet for a few years before I got her but it has been almost a year and although she does mind me, I feel like she still thinks she can get her way. So,..I am starting her completely over again. Can you give me some work I can do to UNSPOIL her? I do not want her to think I am anything less tha=n the lead mare but I also do not want her associate her work with a negative vibe. Suggestions?

Tough one. I have a 3yo here, had hi a year, everytime I approach his ears go flat. never bit, kicj=ked, struck or acted violent, jsyt pins. I don't have an answer. I am as kind as I can be

Poop sounds soothe the soul.😂 Great idea with the count. My mule bobs for apples but wont hold. Need to go back to break down the count. I dropped the ball and he thinks he should just dip and go back to pushing . Especially under saddle.

this was a pleasure to watch. I don't think people realize what it takes to stand toe to toe with a mustang. The ability to be gentle, quiet, and still stern, the confidence it takes to speak to that horse in his language. Is this the standard method you use for halter breaking? My first mustang is away at training after progress fell off between us, but I'm hoping to get some practice under my belt and get him a wild friend.

Nice thought but ... Kind of defeats the purpose of "Go where instructed regardless of destination".... In fact I built a BLACK Box inside my covered round pen, No Windows, No Doors, No Lights, just 4'w, 8'H and 8'Deep. And taught many horses to load into that abyss.
