So lovely...! could you possibly play the lullaby from Gayane...it is my very favourite...just the quiet part-not the crashy orchestral part...😊

Do you mean Gayane by Khachaturian ? interesting piece , there is one piece by this composer that I like even more , Adagio Of Spartacus...I recorded it , and here is the link , hope you'll like it 😄 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h92Rfamg2diYqWQ.html

Those times when TV shows used to invite proper musicians to play or sing live, not whoever eventual rising star that companies need to promote that day nowadays, with 90% of the "live" performance pre-recorded and/or autotuned

Not sure why but Stephen Colbert music sometimes pops up in my feed - perhaps because I watch a lot of jazz and other music on YT (I'm in Australia so I do not watch late night US TV). He seems to invite a lot of musicians to perform live and his in-house jazz band seems very decent but you are right that there is a dearth of quality live music on TV.

You see that Chick Corea was the only guy who could play anything he imagined without hesitation, mistakes or deviation. And his mind saw the infinite, where nobody see. This is a killing combination that made him the greatest musical genius of our time. 🎉❤❤

I had never heard this before. This is just great. Beautiful playing in such a simple setting. I got to see Kenny Barron play at Bradley's in about the same time frame as this recording. I also met Michael Moore, playing with Lou Levy, at Knickerbockers in roughly the same time frame. During the break they were talking about Monty Alexander having just had a heart attack. Michael's comment was 'one more heart attack and he'll play just right.'

After the holocaust where 6 million jews died in Europe, on 1947, the UN recommended the creation of 2 independent states, Arab and Jewish. 33 countries voted for, 13 voted against. Some Arab states didn't like the idea and started a war. Unfortunately, thousands died and many Palestinians escaped to Arab neighboring countries. The story of the Arabs and the Jews is complicated, but one thing for sure, the idea of terrorists from both sides who kill innocent people should not be accepted. Love and Peace !
