I´ve serviced quite a few of these. They are amazingly sturdy and play well. After the years the PSUs tend to fail a lot and the drive needs extensive lubrication because it´s bone dry. My only complaint is the accesibility. Being a compact unit it sucks to do anything inside + the cables are a nightmare.

From my service experience these P12 are terribly prone to malfunction of two things - the PSU and the central processor driving the unit. The failure usually starts like this: The movement of the mechanism is a little erratic, it might play a cassette OK but it won´t eject it afterwards and the machine can´t be powered on anymore BUT the red LED is still shining a little. Upon pressing the power button it lights up a little bit but it dimms again immediately. There is no simple solution for this. I have one of these right here, the PSU is working fine but the rest of the electronics is gone. There are no spares.
