Question: Should you only cut the wall that you are painting? I sit on a rolling scaffold because I have mobility issues, I would like to cut the whole room then go back and paint the flat. Is there any reason that this is not ok?

Should the floor be leveled first before you start the pan mortar ? or it doesn't matter?

why is it you'd only recommend this for a garage floor? I'm in Alaska - and everything is quadruple the cost - and we're moving into our home with plywood floors. I figure it can't hurt to experiment - as we've got to save up for the flooring (no mortgage!) - worse comes to worse and we hate it - there'd be no problem just putting down a wood floor on top, right? Should I be scared to try it?

Well. we've just got our new home dried in. I 've found the epoxy countertops and floor videos - and I am sure I want to jump. I guess I will start with a countertops first. I was wondering do you see an issue, with like making epoxy flowers in molds - then laying them all out in the bathroom - then resinating it all? Do you foresee any issue in this type of scenario . Even watching your fail video, it's hard to understand , as a lay person, exactly what was the issue - you poured it too deep - and it flash cured? and how did you eliminate that? Pour it into smaller, shallower containers?

great tip for cutting in color walls against a white ceiling is to run a light bead of clear acrylic caulking in the corner to be cut beforehand. this will make it much easier to cut a straight line. I painted for many years before I discovered this.

Same thing happened to me last night man....I'm so devastated. I literally mixed 5-600 sq feet just to start painting the edges first. By the time I got ready to actually roll the floor....I poured onto the floor and the stuff would barely spread. At that point I knew I was scared!!! I learned my lesson. Mix and get straight to the pour don't waste no time.

Marine grade Sikaflex is your friend over silicone. You can use it first and finish over with silicone too.

Great tips ! So helpful. At least a couple I hadn’t heard before too. One thought- I worry that using a wire brush to clean the paint brush could damage the bristles. A fine toothed plastic comb or stiff plastic brush seems to work and be gentler on your quality paint brush 😃👍🏻

What would I do if I have three #6 Copper conductors over 200' to an outbuilding, so no ground lead from Main Panel. Two 120V circuits in the outbuilding. Currently ground and neutral from all outlets are "bonded" to outlet neutral leads and supply Neutral in the sunpanel. Can I just drive a ground rod for the building and move the outlet grounds to that, or MUST I run a 4th conductor for ground? BTW, I'm concerned more with the SAFE way than the legal way ;)

I’m sorry but all this “check with your inspector and ask him for guidance” is absolute joke. I’m not sure if you’re living on a different planet but inspectors HATE you as a DIYer. They will do nothing to help you and will actively try to put roadblocks in the way of you are doing something DIY. They are usually past tradesmen and loathe the idea you don’t need them or a licensed electrician.

Being an installer myself and watching endless debates and arguments in online forums, this is the simplest and best explanation on how to properly do a shower pan. I've been doing this for over 30 years with never a failure, while all these newcomers to the trades insist I'm doing it all wrong and I'm a hack stuck on outdated methods. LOL, Meanwhile all of them are scratching their asses trying to figure out why their jobs are failing...
