Mary pondered those things in her heart!! I so appreciate “the hidden times” and the depth or understanding by knowing the Hebrew background of Go’en. Our refuge is the sacrifice of the Mass, our Holy Liturgy where even my Angel may present our offering in union with yours. Three Hail Mary’s for your beautiful calling!!!

May Fr Marin Rest In Peace, and May perpetual light shine upon him. Fr Martin gives a beautiful explanation of the Gospel for the 13th Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year B: The healing stories of the Gospels shine a light upon our future resurrection from death in Christ.

Being in very close personal proximity to Jesus throughout his public ministry, being one of the the three within Jesus’ inner most circle of disciples, this might help one’s theology advance a bit beyond that of typical fishermen of the time.

The sanctuary looks beautiful, and I love the "I Believe" hymn...our choir at Lynnewood sang it a few years ago and it remains one of my favorites. I was remembering that last year this time, I was recovering from surgery and unable to attend worship, so this year is special to me! Thank you for bring us Advent in a special way!

I enjoyed your presentation, although I would not agree you see three in the prologue, and it is an unknown author (my view). I am a very hardcore conservative trinitarian as well, but there is no need for me to stretch other authors into the Gospel of John. Allowing the text to flow, define itself in the context, and staying with the same author helps me to understand. I do not think anyone can understand this gospel unless they know Greek, and know basic ancient philosophy, or have been taught it correctly. The prologue is verses 1-18. We can see the entire gospel in these first 18 verses! 'en archee en ho logos" What does that mean to us... the word archee has 18 different meanings, here the word 'en' tells us what John is trying to convey... 'Before any archee'. I would lay odds, that you are a very good Greek teacher, would love to hear you in the Greek New Testament. OOps- had to edit, I see this man is no longer with us. RIP Thank You

One of the blessings of Fr. Francis Martin's preaching is his extensive language and cultural background, hebrew, greek, latin, german, french, etc... I think he was versed in seven languages! He spent years in the holy land, rome, and other countries before he settled near washington DC! Oh, the stories he would tell!
