😂 I have to be careful where I watch these “Wez reacts”. Embarrassing to be laughing out loud in the middle of a plane flight or while doing the grocery shop! Where did that woman get a PLASTIC spoon from? All I can find are those bamboo one that give me shivers.

Time in the market, not timing the market. Buy and hold is the most prudent approach Invest in quality assets - they will always perform in the medium to long term (5+ yrs) We talk to our clients about these principles all the time

Thanks Wes. I really appreciate your comment about focusing on your business - I simply dont have the mental energy (or time) to learn how to be on top of the market all the time. The challenge for newbies (like myself) is not so much the discipline to put in the extra bits into the investment, it's more about choosing the type of low risk long term investment in the first place. Fixed deposits are ok in terms of yield, but you cant add to them.

Great stuff Wez, and I'm curious: when you say you take $ our of the business to buy property, does the business own the property asset, or do you own it personally?

Awesome content brother! For any novice investors out there I would suggest ‘dollar cost averaging’ into a yielding ETF (eg VWRL) as the best way to proceed until personal knowledge is built up concerning individual stocks/markets. As it promotes a mindset of constant sowing no matter the conditions. Jesus constantly reminded us to have a sowing mindset in all seasons!! Pray we all take heed, action out and enjoy the fruits of our labour to bless & glorify the kingdom Amen 🙏🏽

Hi SD, totally agree - dollar cost averaging into ETFs has been for me a great emotion-neutral strategy (as a novice) that has changed my family's financial life.

Awesome Wez - slow and steady is great advice. As a young man 15-19 I thought about this a lot but never started because I never thought I had enough to start. I met my wife and she helped me save $1000 from my wages over 2 years, it changed my life and my thinking. You don't need to wait, you just need to start and be consistent, over time and it pays dividends.

Seriously, his recommendations are underrated and 100% scientifically backed. I work for a doctor who received his business degree before going back to school for his doctorate. In the 16 years I’ve worked for him, he and I have read countless studies, attended many classes and seminars, and incorporated many systems to essentially perfect the customer service experience for our patients. Based on science, here are key, proven, takeaways that we use… sorry it’s VERY long (yet organized lol), but hopefully helpful if you need it!! 1. Words matter!! We never say “yes” or “no”… yes becomes “absolutely!” Or “it would be my pleasure!” And “no” just becomes alternatives. “Can I get an appt this day?” If it’s unavailable, we reply “is that day of the week best for you? I have that day with openings next week as well as the week after… would either work for you?” Statistically speaking, offering two options makes the person several times more likely to choose one and move on than if you ask an open ended question or say one (or 3+) option. 2. Know their name, say their name! It’s the best word in the world to a person and makes the greatest impression when you remember it and use it. 3. Reach out after hours or the next day to check up (not a sales call). If it’s sales or you provide a service, shoot a text and tell them it was such a pleasure meeting them and ask how the service is doing so far, or ask if they need anything. We text families after big appts to be sure the kiddos are doing well. Our patients blow this up on social media and love that we are personable. 4. Handle the little shit. People hate prep work! We verify your ins, set up the paperwork, make it all electronic, and do everything in house. If you don’t have staff for that, hire an apprentice or intern to help with the little things. We do this often… think trash, clean up, easy prep, catering to patients, etc. It pays for itself to make it easy for your customers; it’s what brings them back and makes them recommend you. 5. SMILE! This is so simple, but so big. We smile on the phone even Bc I promise, you can hear it in your voice. It makes a huge first impression. 6. Instead of “can I help you?”, try “thank you for calling X, I CAN HELP YOU.” It’s instant confidence they’ll have in you. Even if you actually don’t know the answer, on the phone just say “I’ll be so happy to look into that for you! Do you mind holding for just one moment?” Or in person “that is such a great question! Let me peek into our system/laptop/whatever and get that info for you!” 7. Simplify steps. If you can, cross train staff so a single person can help a client vs passing them to many people. You will seem super helpful and knowledgeable and they feel more like family than a number. Also consider offering similar services… like pressure washers, consider doing staining too. Painters, consider minor sparkling fixes. Etc. It really draws us in a lot of business by offering dual(related) services. 8. Be remembered!! I go out of my way to make people remember me/us by doing whatever I can to be helpful. I have overheard someone saying they needed documents notarized after the appt, so I grabbed my stamp and did it right there for free. A fussy toddler? Blow up a balloon. Hot summer days? Have cold bottled water. People remember this stuff, they talk about it, it goes on social media… it makes a difference!! Plus it just makes me happy to help lol These are just a few things we’ve implemented that have grown our practice exponentially. I have helped run the practice for the last ten (or so) years and can attest to the numbers. And all of those things can apply to basically any business. Hope that helps someone… my fingers are cramping, but it made me happy to share! Like a little baby I helped create; I’m quite proud of our systems lol ☺️

I’ve never felt Gods into the grind that Dana explains. There’s the realities of pressure that he explains - they’re real. But the grind culture doesn’t allow any room for God to work. Also there’s a different between a business answer and being self-employed. My wife consults and pays her own tax because it’s more efficient to have several contracts that pay her a higher rate, she doesn’t want employees, doesn’t care about USP’s or marketing. You nailed that explanation 👌🏼
