nice to know the area is still relatively pristine. used to go there often when I attended NAU in the late 80's.

This is a very well done video and documentary. My father was a water well driller from the 1940's-1970's. I can remember that he took myself and two brothers with him when he went to visit someone who lived in Ruby. The man and my father talked for many hours about a possible well drilling job somewhere in the area. My older brother was allowed in the house for the meeting but myself and younger brother had hours to roam around while we were waiting. The potential client lived in an adobe building and came outside when we left. He walked with a cane and had a white beard with a cowboy type hat. At that time that type of visit was very normal for us so I didn't think it was anything unusual. Again great video.

Nice video, thanks for sharing. I live here in Payson. These are some great basic trails in the area. There are far more trails that many people have never heard of, and not on trail apps. Next time you guys are in the area, feel free to reach out and maybe we can connect and run some less known trails in the Payson area. Stay safe and keep rolling.

The museum in Young is only open on Saturdays during the summer but if you call anytime during the year someone can come open it up for you. The phone number to call is on the front door.

Great trip. I remember my trip to the prison. Lots to see and think about. It would have been a rough place to call "home". BUT, that was the point back then. My son in law was a guard at Florence, certainly not the same type of experience for convicts today...

Have seen ice at the end of this cave. Definitely bring more than one light per person.

Don't wear warm clothes because it is a hard hike underground, and you will quickly overheat. Needing extra lights is no joke. It is pitch black in there, and it takes a long time to hike over the uneven floor. You will need your hands from time to time, so multiple headlamps is a really good idea. Make sure all your lights have fresh batteries before you start.

Scotty…..another fantastic video. I grew up in Prescott in the 1950’s & mid 1960’s and love northern Arizona. All your series of this area are fantastic. The forests are so unique and beautiful. The last time I was on this road was 1984 and you did not show this but maybe 40 years later it has changed. Then….you could still see the actual Crook road on the inside curves of the forest road with the wagon ruts… in many places. I think the Boy Scouts sorta maintained the original segments at that time. I have the original 1800’s first printing books written by the soldier officers who were actually in the Apache wars such as Lt Bourke, etc. He tells that on a march across the Crook trail back then there was four feet of snow on the rim trail. Can you imagine crossing that with horses and some wagons in snow that deep! Also, if you would have gone down the tunnel trail a little lower you could have seen the original military trail where they built up the trail sides with rock to make the trail wider and smoother. I have photos of that with photos of the original military road that I described earlier. I love reading the firsthand accounts of the Apache wars written by the soldiers that fought and traveled fighting in the Apaches. I do not go for the rewritten accounts as they are not accurate. Maybe things have changed in 40 years about this area. Your videos are superb! Thanks for sharing.

Very nice series of videos. Northern Arizona is spectacular. I had been to the T bar back about 1975. Wish we knew more about its history. I love the pine forests around there and even further east. Used to camp at Greer. Thanks for sharing.

I lived in Sierra Vista in the late 60's and climbed around the Stronghold and Carr Canyon many times. This is some of the most beautiful country in the entire south west, thank you for taking me back! Ahh, the San Pedro River Basin, what stories you could tell!

Hey brother really enjoying your channel! I’m an AZ tuber as well and do dry camping video in my truck camper but I also have a lifted geo tracker that I take out on trails once in a while on videos. We should meetup and do a collab if you’re interested 🤷 my email is in the “about” section of my channel if you are interested.

Scotty, I'm in Sierra Vista if you come back to SE AZ and need a recovery spot, give me a holler on YT. I love your well researched, informative video's. We generally head north (above I40) for our RV exploration trips but are starting to see the value of staying local.

How much of that is travel trailer accessible? F-150 and 22 foot with 14 inch clearance and offroad tires. Loving this series as I'm out of Sierra Vista.

Been near there many times but never stopped. After watching you nicely done video. It looks like I may have to go check it out. Not to sound harsh, but the triple mirrored photo affect was not real appealing in the video. Looking forward to more of your adventures.
