I have visited Da Nang several times over the years and was there just 10 days ago. Hot and humid as always this time of year (37c /100f). And compared to the last time I visited there was lots of closed shops and way more touts trying to sell you stuff so the city hasnt recoved yet from covid. Dont get me wrong I really like DN, but it isnt as clean and chill as this video portrait it to be (it was filmed more or less on just two touristy streets) so visit for at least a week or two before you decide to stay long term.

What you do not show is the apartments are rubbish,in blocks with 20 plus other rooms,people stamping on ceilings slamming doors all day and night.then you have the bars and karaoke all night.worst place to live apart from the food and drink

so sad, the food stalls outside Lotus are all closed down, starting from 1st Jun. Have no idea this is only temporary, or not coming back in at least a short period of time.

I'm not sure I understand how bad the climate is, especially in the summer, and to what extent it would wear out your typical older expat or tourist. Could the subject of weather be elaborated on, and compared to other places in Southeast Asia?? Most of us, at least older more settled folks, don't relish the idea of living in a sauna and being confined to air conditioning for months on end. I wish some KZfaqrs could spend as much time on this issue as they do on talking about food!

Are you positive about September to October being one of the best times to visit weather wise? Everything I've seen says it isn't a good time to go.
@itsme-yw1el2 күн бұрын
September and October lies in the hurricane season of Vietnam. During this season, hurricanes usually hit Northern and Middle Vietnam. September and October is rain season in Southern Vietnam so heavy rains, flooded streets is pretty common. So monitor the weather closely before you leave. Hope this helps

Had some dental work done in Da Nang. Excellent job. $1400. I was quoted $12,000 in Canada. Even with the dollar exchange it can never be justified in Canada

Both Danang and Hoi An a wonderful places. The people are friendly and laid back. Hoi An probably has more tailor shops per capita than anywhere else in the world. They are fast, skilled and very reasonable. There is a great public market in Hoi An with an assortment of local dishes. Both places are great to walk around and safe. The beach in Danang is legendary. It was a top R and R spot during the American war and site of an old TV series called China Beach which was the name the GIs gave to the beautiful My Khe Beach.

Granulated cane sugar is essential for a perfect Mohito. but, instead of using lime juice, use one-half to 3/4 fresh lime . Please place it in the bottom of the glass and crush the limes with a meddler or wooden spoon. Bruise the mint but don't tear it when adding it to the squashed limes. Fill with ice and 2 to 2 and one-half ounces of good White Rum. Add club soda last. this recipe has never gone wrong with those I serve it to.

Just my gas and electric bill and council tax bill in the UK works out at over $400 a month so it would be cheaper to live there then my bills here let alone rent and food is also way more expensive in UK
@RichardPeterShon3 күн бұрын
Woah so I telling me Vietnam is more expensive than China? Why? You think 1K is cheap? 😂
@gaiaevalynlove79013 күн бұрын
This video is incorrect the cost of living in Ubud and Bali is insanely expensive, I spend $3000 a month here the same as in the UK. Unless you want to starve yourself and live in a shoe box then it may be $1500 a month!! The Traffic is also ridiculous!!!
@sammencia79453 күн бұрын
4:40 If you are older consider NOT driving a bike. Scooter traffic in Vietnam is legendary and dangerous. One crash and you are unable to walk. Those are for the young. Get a car or take car taxis.
@LivingOverseasTV3 күн бұрын
@sammencia7945, Good advice. Motorbikes are always dangerous.
