I never knew my home country had such unknown beauty! I guess one only sees the places most travelled by visitors. I live abroad presently and have been wanting to do a solo cycle trip somewhere, and I think I'll do it in SA. I've quad-biked up Sani Pass from the SA side into Lesotho-the untarred route to the top to visit the highest pub in Africa - was amazing-took like 8 hours...4 up and 4 down. Being in the Drakensberg Mountains is like being in Heaven.

Sooo LOVE that you have Johnny Clegg on your video. I'm South African and he is one of our country's music legends. RIP Johnny. Forever a part of Africa.

Hi Niels, so nice to see how far you have travelled! At around 6:39 you started driving from Omaruru past our Guest Farm, where you even camped. So funny to see this video now and not knowing that you camped on my parents farm 😂 keep up the good spirit! Regards from Namibia 🇳🇦

Thank you so much for making and sharing this extraordinary series of films. The KZfaq algorithm suggested your videos to me as you were setting out and I remember watching the early episodes (up until Finland) pretty soon after you posted them. But for some reason I lost track of you. But you popped back into my feed a few weeks ago and I have really enjoyed catching up with all episodes. The adventure you undertook is truly incredible and inspiring. I also dream of someday doing a long-haul bike tour (maybe when I retire). It seems like you had a great (if challenging) time almost everywhere, although it looks like the Egypt/Sudan/Ethiopia sections were perhaps not as fun as some others. I found the later episodes on Namibia and Lesotho particularly interesting as I knew so little about these places. There are many bike touring channels on KZfaq but yours is perhaps the best. It is quite rare to have someone who combines spectacular imagery, nice music and an easy-going presentation style. But I think your real skill is editing. There is no filler in your videos. They are all the perfect length. You must have left so much footage out! I hope life back in NL is treating you well and I wish you the very best for whatever you decide to do from now on. Thank you again!

Very smart Niels, I do it quite similar. But I didnt dare to take the 4 K and the drone. I prefer leather shoes too. I use in winter dune sleeping bag with cotton inlay. I could recommend the very light msr 1 person tent. To sleep good is very important to have power for the day. So 1 or 2 good isolation madresses are very very important. Thank You and allways have fun with the important toys in clean and beauty planet.

Even I'm older I keep doing like you again: hiking und biking to sage the planet. Keep clean and safe in your life and thanks for watching again. - As I grew older dogs on my trips stopped barking and biting. In the desert of Maroque and other parts of the world they want to travel with me or protect me. 😉But I said: No its better for us to live alone going our own ways . 😊

Steel porter is better than of Al. My expensive Alu Rack broke in Lyon in 1988. I bought a cheap and simple french steel type. It hold about 25 years till my bike was stolen. - Very beautiful nature. Thanks for the good "eastern".

In 2018, I met a cyclist in Lapland, a professor from Switzerland, who was also riding from the North Cape to the Cape of Good Hope. He traveled with a dog, who ran alongside him and jumped into the trailer when he got tired. We exchanged contacts and communicated periodically. As a result, the professor and his dog were able to make it all the way.
