A few blocks past the 7-eleven in Melbourne Beach are the Versailles sur la Mer Condominiums. The dunes next to them used to be sandy parking trails back in the 80s. My friends and I used to surf there. One afternoon my friend starting freaking out and there walking past us towards the condo's was Robert Culp from tv's Greatest American Hero which was popular then.

I've lived all over Brevard but my first home was Cocoa behind the old A&P plaza on Dixon. 1970 I was six and my best friend and I would collect deposit bottles and mow lawns for money. We'd ride to Bryrd Plaza and get a burger, fries and chocolate malt at Woolworths and buy ghost stories from Thorn books. Then down to Toy Chest to buy the latest model kits and MEGO figures. Later we'd go see a movie at the Pines theater near our house. The 60s-70s were the best.

Thanks for sharing the video. We were down here several times back in the late 70's through the 80's on vacation. I saw the hotel we stayed at every time we visited . It's now called The Ocean Breeze Club Hotel but when we stay there it was called The Whitehall Inn. I'm Glad to see it's being renovated it's been around for a while.
