How much did shady grove pay to buy out the list? One of the worst clinics on earth

Don't join this plan if you want fertility coverage. They deny everything including things they list as covered. I'm almost too old now because i took this plan and i have to wai ttill the 3end of the year to switch. You might have taken my ability to have a baby and squashed it. I'm completely devastated

Your plan doesn't cover IVF. most women need to do a Frozen transfer, you dont cover it.

NOT A DOLLAR LIMIT, is because the plan denies everything ICSO, Cryo, Thawing, frozen transfers

This is a joke. FSBP plan doesn't cover half the items that they claimed to for IVF. Also their centers of excellence have not only ripped off customers, they withhold medical records when you want to remove. The FSBP took the liberty of changing the centers of excellence in April 3 months after the plan year started, bait and switch so those who chose a clinic had to change to higher costing clinics. Most are choosing to pay out of pocket at CNY because its cheaper than Shady Grove which clearly is in the pocket of FSBP and Aetna. There is no reason why they're the only option. Ask them about their deposit and what it entails? they wont tell us either. Extra charges unexplained. Also btw if you are considering this plan, it does not cover any aspect of IVF. They don't deny them in their brochure as a way to bait and switch you into taking the plan on. Maybe we need to get an attorney to hold them accountable. FSBP are dishonest. feel free to contact me..

Thank you for your infomration. My husband retired last year ( 2023) and I am still working and plan to til 67 or even 70. We are Both covered under FEHB. He is receiving his pension and SS, and I work fulltime ( not for the federaL GOVERNEMENT). I turn 65 this Oct and he will turn 65 next June. So according to your information, I should sign up for part A Medicare on or around my birthday since it is free. Then contact FEHB and let them know. 2. Our income 2 years back was high filing jointly, and now is not. Should I file an exception since I am covered by FEHB and wait a year til the lower income shows on the 2 year look back, or go ahead and apply for Part B as well and ask for a reduction since my husband retired a year ago, cutting our income in half? Lastly- since I am on my husbands retirment benefits FEHB, what happens if something happens to him? Do I lose coverage?

Thank you. That was one of the most comprehensive videos I’ve seen on FEHB and Medicare. My husband is retiring in January and he is not the type that likes to deal with paperwork or administrative details so I’m trying to figure this all out on my own. Much appreciated.

My wife is turning 65, we get to pay $174.70/mo for absolutely nothing if she takes part B The Blue Cross premium will remain the same but they won't have to pay any benefits. It makes no sense to me to pay twice for the same thing.

Hello, I am having difficulty getting an answer for a pending surgery. I am lucky the base I work on is willing to do the surgery. They called to verify coverage and were told I would not be covered. When I called, I was informed that I should be covered. When the call was transferred, the call ended in a loop back to the original number called. Thank you for clarifying this point.

This choice has left me in prescription hell! I opted out because the Express Scripts letter said I had only so many days to do it. After listening to this webinar I opted in. I have now spent hours and hours over the phone on hold and talking to both ES and AFSPA. I have received 4 envelopes with “your out”, “your in” letters. As of today I have no prescription coverage. Yesterday I had to pay for a prescription with a GoodRX coupon because I ran out while waiting for customer service on both sides to solve my problem. Today I call AFSPA and consistently get hung up on before the call is even answered. I’m in tears and will be out of another drug in 2 days and can’t get it. If you opted out, stay out. Unless you want to be in prescription he’ll,with me;

There is no information here about how the PDP plan, a Medicare Part D plan, coordinates with the FSBP with claims for prescriptions/medications when living/visiting overseas. The information addressed in the webinar is ambiguous at best and there is no written description I can find anywhere about how there is coordination of prescription benefits as there is with Medicare Part B for medical benefits and how the FSBP covers for overseas claims for medical services. I assume that members who require the FSBP cover overseas medications simply apply the provisions of the plan brochure and submit overseas claims through the AFSPA member portal.

My understanding is most if not all Medicare Part B plans do not cover you if you live or travel overseas.

Will the current FSBP FEHB premium be reduced to cover the additional premium that Part D Medicare IRMA costs?
@mhowland5544

IRMAA for couples is 0 if you earn $194,000. If over that amount, the first tier costs $12.20 per person, which is $24.40 a month for a couple. This cost will most likely make the PDP plan not cost effective. This can happen If you are having to take out $$ for RMD or take out more from TSP for certain expenses. This can push you over this $194 K amount. If we are below the threshold now and want to go with the Part D PDP, but know that IRMAA is based upon income 2 years prior and we will be above the $194 threshold in two years, can we go back to our current FSBP drug plan, and opt out of Part D PDP?

Title of session was misleading. The session did not involve a discussion of any *alternatives* to the current benefits. Instead, the session concerned current benefits under the plan. A less confusing title would be "complementary medicine benefits."
