Having a good relationship with your players matters a lot when it comes to stuff like this. Trust by itself is often the difference between coming across as a cunning DM who pulls strings to make the game more interesting and an ego tripping DM who just wants to feel like God.

Had a DM do something similar for us. An @ssh0le Noble got away from a fight barely. DM had planed to have that NPC die so from then on whenever we where at a social event there would be that @ssh0le Noble causeing problems and being all smug to us because we couldn't touch him during those social events. It was great. Count Fescue was his name, after a type of grass.

This reminds me of the darn "wait it out" rooms. The first time someone threw such a countdown prank room at me it felt cheap. The fourth time I wanted to scream. There's no fun to be had in a "puzzle" with no solution.

Fun fact: pathfinder 2 has a race called Draxie. It is a fairy dragon pixie. I played one that was a druid. Lots of fun.

My newest character, 2 sessions in now has PTSD, Post Transformed Sheep Disorder. As a Yuan-ti, being wild magic polymorphed into dinner twice within 10 mins leaves an impression 😂😂
Orangutan have longer arms than humans, and they suck at throwing things. So realistically, they should throw a shorter distance than other humanoids

Okay but hot take. While a lot of the stuff from dndwiki IS overpowered, a lot of it is actually really cool ideas. The fun thing about being a DM is you can allow it but make changes to balance it more at the table. If my players come to me with super OP shit from dndwiki I look to see if the idea is there and hit them with the good ol "I can allow you to play this. However, as it stands this is a bit too powerful so how about we work together to make something a bit more balanced with this as the basis"

How i would replie: i dont think that exact idea would work but i would say a child of tiamat would be a tiefling due to being in avernis and soaking in all the dimonic energy. For balancing reasons we cant make you an exact demi god becouse other players will feel useless than so you will have to make that part of your backstory... Or dont. You will be just as powerfull ad all the other players but it would be funny to play a very arogant character thinking they are better becouse they are a demigod even tho they are just as weak. For class i would go draconic sorcerer or youl have to reflavour something. But we can make this work! How my awfull dm would replie: no (dont do this and help the player out. That dm ruined all excitement i had for yhe campaign by disaptoving most of my characters becouse they werent basic dnd character. Of something doesnt fit i understand but if i have a cool concept wich i love yo play help the player out and make it work. Dont just say no but fit it in your story)

Back in 3.5E, we just got the Epic Level handbook, so we wanted to try it out, so session 0 was going to be at lv 20, and I allowed homebrew, and would review it mid game. So one guy, showed up a CR21 monster with the Lich and half-dragon templates, and 20 levels in warlock. He just added across on the stat blocks too, which he then added to his rolls. Needless to say at this point, he did not know what he was doing. And he rage quit after we went over the rules on how to those things properly, instead of letting him play as an ELv 45 character in a lv20 game

Well, if you want to consider real world physics, having a longer throwing arm would absolutely increase thrown speed amd distance. Think of a sling, Hurley, or lacrosse stick.

Honestly, as a DM I get frustrated by characters that are robots or undead in longer form games. I love them, but I feel like sometimes people’s character begins and ends with being a robot or undead. They often feel disconnected from the world, and a bit directionless. Though, that can happen with most characters; it’s just a habit that I see more often showing up in those kinds of characters

Hey, dont judge every warforged, autonome, dhampir and reborn character! Technically you can Play the Protagonist Guy from dragons Dogma with reborn or the Star wars droids with warforged. What you describe is more of a Player Problem, Not a Race Problem.
