I guess if the Lightning cable comes from the original Apple earphones with Lightning plug this will work. How about the cheapest Lightning to USB cables used for charging - do they have this converter chip on them? Will they work? In your video the Lightning cable is already cut from something. Has it been cut from Apple earphones?
