So do you have to take the whole thing apart to drain it at the end of the season?

Is it possible to make a smaller version of this?

Absolutely, I work at a pallet manufacturer. You can buy cheap smaller pallets.

Did you use a regular tarp or buy a waterproof tarp?

Great idea, a year or so ago. Now the plywood alone would cost almost as much, if not more than that size pool would from Walmart lol However, if you go on Facebook marketplace and look up swimming pools, there is nearly always someone giving one away with metal walls that the liner is trash. If you get that and use the roll of metal to line the inside of the pallets, it would still be incredibly cheap. Great video, thanks for sharing.

What else can you use to connect the pallets together other then steel straps and ratchet straps?
@anthonywolf1249
@anthonywolf1249 Жыл бұрын
Actually. You could always cut corner pieces out of wood. You would need 20 pieces for top and bottom of each connecting runner board on the pallets. Runner board is the horizontal 2x4 inside pallet. Cut the proper angle out of a 2x6 to put inside pallet and screw the pallets together.

Those tarps are toxic and they cause cancer and birth defects. There is a warning in very small print on packaging.

Actually just screwed the deckboards down through the top. The weight of the water just holds it in place

Just the weight of the water. Its screwed down to the top rail under the cap boards also.

Awesome! Thank you for the tutorial! Question, what size straps did you purchase? Did you have to put 2 of them together?
@anthonywolf1249
@anthonywolf1249 4 жыл бұрын
The straps I believe are 27 feet so yes they just hook together. There is 6 total. Most people only use 2 sets not 3. If use steel straps should be enough
