nice tips, always stressing to leave for a while when you have to care for those a bit every day. Hey Remy, are your automatic sprayers connected to the tap water ? or do you have any RO system to remove the tds from the water that they use ? thanks
@WindowsillNepenthes14 сағат бұрын
In the grow tent, the sprayer is connected to a tank filled up with RO water ;)

Those nepenthes's are by far the best looking plants I've ever seen. I own only two. Today 😂 It will change very soon. Since waiting for my sphagnum moss to grow, I placed some of the pitchers in lower growing green plants. Have 20 phalaenopsis growing around. A small diffuser is doing his job very well. Very happy with all my plants. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.

Are u able to grow a villosa or lowii in windowseal
@WindowsillNepenthes2 күн бұрын
No, you would have enough night cooling temperature 🌡️
@notbarus9309Күн бұрын
@@WindowsillNepenthesI do, but villosa won't grow in summer when it's too hot so I would say it's unlikely, you could try a alternitive species, which is closely related - n. Ephippiata Hose Mountains variant, mine grows no problem in highland as well as lowland conditions all year round.

I don't know how tech-savvy you are, but have you looked into open source alternatives? A lot of people use OBS for streaming, for example. DaVinci Resolve instead of Premiere etc. I hate the SaaS (Software as a Service) model, so pretty much all software I use is free and open source. Unless you need véry specific functionality, you won't miss the paid software.

Not all carnivorous plants have active traps like Dionaea species. This is a Nepenthes and the trap is passive because no insects can get out once inside. ;)

@WindowsillNepenthes4 күн бұрын
I use sphagnum/peat/perlite but well drained (50% of perlite), in a 6-7 inched tall pot, resting in 1 inch of water.

Raising the humidity inside your house can cause problems. Not for your plants, but for your house. High humidity can make wallpaper peel, make wood swell, and make metal objects rust. It makes your heating and cooling have to work harder, which raises your energy bills. It makes mold and mildew more likely to grow inside the house. Something to think about.
@WindowsillNepenthes6 күн бұрын
@@censusgary yes, but keep in mind humans need 50% and dryness is also not great 😃. And with this trays, the humidity is very local as you can see on my test: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/orR7aaaGxtWyaY0.html
