Yeah those fire alarms were notorious for that looks like the ones on the outside are the faraday version of the Simplex 4903-9838 the one that they point out that's an electronic one sounds like an EST integrity probably replaced a dead faraday horn at some point.

Yeah I bet it replaced one of the dead faraday horns at some point a lot of fire alarm companies will do that when the guys get there for the trouble call they will replace the broken device with whatever they have on hand at the time.
