I'm 60 years old, in 1982 i have this bike. In Italy, with this, we ride against "vespone" ( Piaggio Vespa 125 modified) , Laverda 125 LZ (with Zundapp motor) and the fastest 125 of the era... Aspes Yuma !

This two stroke Harley Davidson earned the nickname "Malaria Harley" in Indonesia because the Indonesian government through its Department of Health (now Ministry of Health) imported a large number of these bikes to be used by healthcare workers to fight malaria back in the 70s.

Can you please tell me where did you get the handlebars? I have a 2002 xl883c and I don't care for the handle bars that came with the bike. And what are they brand and name.thanks in advance for any info that you can provide.

Yeah a lot of that had to do with the choke cable being to tight and me only having one hand due to recording. Also the fact it had 35k miles lol. It needs a min or two to warm up and then it would idle perfect

Harley has discontinued the 883 Sportster as an entry-level bike. All they want to sell now is high-end. Bad leadership. They now want you to spend $30,000. Everybody is going to Indian or Honda. The new leadership at Harley is not even from America and does not understand their traditional customer. They want to become the motorcycle for doctors and lawyers. They know it will no longer be the common man's bike. They will ruin the company just as leftists always ruin everything they touch.

Just picked up a yellow 81. 106 miles. But it sat outside for years. New Front Brakes & Cable. Battery. Rectifier. Relay. headlight. Cleaned the carb twice. It still needs some choke on to accelerate properly....not sure if its the cold weather or a still clogged idle jet. ( soaked in carb cleaner and used .009 guitar wire on the e-tube holes. You cant remove the idle jet). New seat coming. Have all winter to play. Will give it to my daughter if she only rides on side streets. Not super fast, but cool looking and easy to work on. Fun!

Thinking about buying a really nice 2000 883 with 11000 miles. She wants 2850. Seems pretty fair and she said she'd possibly go down a little bit on the price. Do you think that's a decent price? There's so many for sale but I don't think that'll stay the same forever and harley is doing away with the Evo motor which sucks balls.

I can also see why you say you've been through a few of these! Thrashing the arse off the poor thing trying to keep up with cars! Fit mirrors and turn your indicator off ffs!!
@jonathansimmonds5784 Жыл бұрын
Another one! What is wrong with you people?! Do not rev a choked engine!!!! Gradually ease the choke back in as the engine warms up, it will start to hunt when it has too much choke and falter when too little! If it doesn't then you're carb isn't set up correctly! It's not rocket science! Regarding down shifting, so few of you seem to understand how to do it smoothly, change down then keep the pedal pressed down, that puts you in a neutral, there's a neutral between each gear on a Cub, it's when you let the pedal back up that you get that horrible rapid deceleration. Stick shift car drivers will know what I mean when I say double de-clutch? Well you need to learn how to do that on a Cub!!

I wish people would stop revving an engine when they first start it, especially if there's any choke. I'm not going to give you all a lecture, go learn why.
