I hate black bars, why blu-ray releases is not 16:9 Fullscreen ? Many TVs is 16:9 aspect ratio and blu-ray is home cinema...😢

Hey Chris, great review, thank you. Do you have any thoughts on this vs ix1? Charging, range, and price are broadly comparable, but they have other obvious differences.

But if you actually drive the MG4 compared to the BYD, you will get the MG. It's a driver's car. The Dolphin is not.

Hi Chris, I noticed you are using the OVO EV plan for your power cost calculation for your EV, since OVO is jacking up their EV plan peak time power charges by more than 30%, will you be switching to another energy supplier and who will you go with?

Thanks Chris for your usual insightful and detailed review😊 A few extras compared to my 2021 RWD Ioniq 5, 😉 although basically the same EGMP platform. I think our I5 is quiet but looks like it pales versus the EV9. As you say a bit too expensive. Will be interesting to compare it to Polestar 3.

I think the Xpeng G9 will outsell this by factor of 10 when it gets here. Kia have overpriced it, but all EVs by the Hyundai/Kia/Genesis group are overpriced. I saw an Xpeng G6 in Melbourne yesterday, I'm guessing it is a dealer car since deliveries don't start until October.

You don't need to compare every EV to Tesla, remember Tesla have one major flaw...their CEO...and with the curent politics in the US and recent comments it won't help Tesla at all they may lose huge sales if the orange skinned one gets in again.

Yeah I'm disappointed in Elon supporting Trump. Pitty he and Tesla are synonymous. I tend to compare so that people have context, that's all.

Saw one of these while I was charging earlier this year (same Matt blue press spec) - really nice car but the pricing strategy is bonkers!. You could get 2 Tesla Model Ys (yes 5 seats, but 2 gets you 10 seats) PLUS charge them on the most expensive charging network and still have change in your pocket after 1 to 2 years. AND you wouldn’t have any servicing costs either! Heck, you could buy a near top spec Toyota Landcruiser and fuel it for 5 - 10 minutes (Ok maybe a month) and still save some cash left over. What puzzles me is that KIA already have the Carnival which is the clear market leader in the SUV/People Mover segment yet they build this? The Carnival would be killer EV for large families.

Great video. One slight slight change I’d like you to see though as someone who does own a solar system is the addition into the equation of feed in tariff. When using a device or charging during the day, there is an opportunity cost involved. At present FIT’s are not what they used to be. But for illustration let’s say the sun is shining and FIT is 5c. The cost to charge 1kW/h from solar is free but at the expense of selling that 1kW/h as well. So it’s the cost is actually kW/h x FIT. But to be fair there is also a saving. The saving is the self consumption of the solar vs what the cost of source the electricity from grid. Solar is such a massive win in this country though. ROI is easily 5 years (and can even be less up north)

The salesman I bought my Ioniq 6 from advised me to leave the warnings on, but to turn down (or off) the notification volume. That way you still have the visual notifications on the display but without the constant beeps.

What the issue with having excess supply capacity if there is t the load to use that power? If there is no extra load then there should be no feed in….. Personally I’m turning my solar off during the day when the grid desperately needs it ….. if they are going to charge me for it.

LOL Now compare this TINY battery fire to the Derrimut Factory Fire that was packed with 44 gallon Drums of commonly used Hydro Carbons. This was a limited location flame, Derrimut had multiple Mushroom Clouds and launched 44 gallon Drums next door. When FUD fear mongers spam Battery Fires. They ignore how terrible commonly used Hydro Carbons are. Sadly this all happened in Victoria.

We’ve got the Longrange 77 - love it !!!! We use our panels to charge it so $0 free motoring. Quiet, quick, comfy. App is awesome, we use the app everyday for charging……..and to preheat the car on cold mornings! For a daily we can’t fault it. Rear centre headrest isn’t that bad - it’s excellent for a tired adult, your head can fit perfect up against it for a half hr nap🤣 Our older Jeep Grand Cherokee is a lot worse, I had to take the centre head rest out where as I can easily live with the centre head rest in the MG. Looking forward to seeing lthis vehicle getting better and better over the next 4/5 years. Here’s a quick tip too - swipe down on the Home Screen, it brings up some great options straight up. Great video. 100% agree with you regarding looking at this over a Corolla or similar - I’d take this every day of the week. We sold our i30 for the MG and haven’t looked back, as faultless and as good as the i30 was. Edit - we had to head up to Sydney recently and was around 360km round trip with mostly highway. It had 95% on the battery before heading off and around 50km left when we got home. Not bad - given Sydney would be our most furthest travel on occasion we’re happy with the Longrange. Absolutely beautiful to drive.

I was expecting that you would review the product Chris - but there is no review. I'm concerned that it would still allow too much heat and glare through. I know from past experience that the reflective silver with the black material backing is very effective, but I'm concerned about this product's effectiveness.

As I checked insurance premiums are insanely high for Model 3/Model Y compared to petrol vehicle (AUD 300+ vs 150+). So in rems of costs for a period of time, this plays a huge role. For example if I have to pay extra 100 monthly for insurance for Tesla and if I run 10000 km per year, then at the end of 5 years (50000 km), I will ended up paying 100x12x5 = 6000 extra. So savings on the fuel cost seems doesn't matter in certain cases.

Dude, I wish I found your video sooner. I just tried to make a how to video for the Japanese and that went south so fast. That trick with the lifting of the cover didn't really help me too much, but yeah, it is a little better. The Chinese right handed cars are definitely more difficult than the American cars. I got so pissed off I called out the KZfaqr that is on Hanshow's product page. I feel like a lot of KZfaqrs aren't completely honest about some of the products they push. The next thing I have to worry about now is how long is this power frunk going to work. There are horror stories about the power frunk's struts failing, but those were previous versions. Version 5 seems pretty solid so far, only time will tell. Great work on the video!
