I found the video very interesting and informative but I was confused by the term "massive flies" (or message fly in one part of the transcript). A search on Google just took me to how to avoid flies (insects) on a boat. Please help.

So when the Tactician/trainer was asking for a couple of less degrees of heel to the helmsman was he really asking for him to point higher?

There is a lot to get my head around in this video. Will need to look at it a few times. First take and understanding indicates that effort will be worthwhile.

electric engine with diesel genset, horrible nav station layout.. better use of space.. might as well expand that bathroom.. why duel helm in that layout.. seems better to just have it centered. why a center board, why not c foils in the amas ?

Hey Dave Reed! Check out the upward climb of the 105 at the Chicago Noods this year. Many fleets seem to have found some new legs and we all know the pull of one design racing. Beautiful boat!

What is going on with the camera? This video is frustrating to watch. Gary is explaining the layout and controls which is difficult to interpret by audio only while the video is showing J/35s racing. Please, we need better production of a great series that I very much enjoy and hope there is more exploring of different classes and their boats.

Your throttle curves are usually used on helis. It's to set your rotor speed relative to your collective pitch. Idle mode just sets a throttle setting that doesn't move while you adjust collective pitch using the joystick. Normal adjusts throttle and collective at the same time with the joystick. Using these curves on the boat is a great idea. On my radio I have a three position switch. You could set each position to haul in the sails at maximums by setting the throttle curves to 0-100 on switch positition 1. (Black) Throttle curve 5-100 on switch position 2. (Red) Throttle curve 10-100 on switch position 3. (Green) I wish I could come race with you guys.

21:40 scenario. You are the leeward boat trying to make the pin at the start. Before the start, you have luffing rights. After the start, you don't have luffing rights. Correct? So if you are trying to make it around the pin and the starting gun goes off, can you still luff up and use momentum to get around the mark if there is a boat immediately to windward of you and would also have to luff?

I really didn't think that there were troll everywhere... In fact, it's not too late to comment after sailing, isn't it?! I received my Tiwal 3R in March. I have sailed three times. Except that she is equipped with a lot of rigging, which will takes more time to disassemble and assemble. She is really great. I enjoy my time at sea very much.
@sailingworld3 ай бұрын
Excellent. I imagine once you've rigged it a few times it will be faster. Enjoy your time on the water and keep sailing!
