When Sakura and Sayaka _finally_ announced they had found a new drummer and singer, I was stoked. I've followed Hagane for years and as a pro guitarist am a huge fan of Sakura (one of the very best in the scene, full stop). Then I found out the drummer was JUNNA...and I found myself grinning ear-to-ear. What a great pick for both Hagane AND Junna...a band that perfectly fit her full-speed-ahead, dynamic style. But I was ambivalent about Nagi, a complete noob (this is her very first band). How could a rookie keep up with musicians of this caliber? Well...THIS well, apparently. I bought the new EP the same day of it's digital release, and she's THIS good on every track. Range, power, accuracy, and a fantastic feel for this kind of music. And from what I've seen, has WAY more stage presence than a rookie has any right to have. What a find! Future metal star? I think so...

One of my favorite Band-Maid songs,. Kanami is a beast on guitar, but an even bigger beast when it comes to music writing and arrangements. My theory is she is actually immortal Mozart, still writing masterpieces for orchestras with her being the conductor and her guitar going between being the featured soloist, to being the string section, then switching to a horn section ... The lyric writing is often (as I believe this one is) a product of Miku (rhythm guitar and backup vocals,) and she doesn't shy away from writing more 'graphic' imagery to get her meaning across! That said, Saiki (lead vocalist) can be pretty straight forward and 'graphic' as well when she picks up a pen. **Check out** the live version of 'Hate?' on their KZfaq channel (plus they throw in a little solo or two that you might find 'interesting'!)

Nice. I'm someone who came to The Warning after B-M as opposed to vice versa like you. Saw The Warning earlier this year in fact. Two absolutely fantastic bands who are dragging rock back up from the ground in their own unique ways.

When listening to Escape the Mind in the context of the ages of Dany, Pau, and Ale, it is simply amazing. Take me Down, is a song that constantly plays in my head. I will find myself whistling it all the time. Escape the Mind is so moving to me. It always brings a tear to my eyes. To me, The Warning’s Free Falling is the definitive one.
