The river flows from the Lake Erie around Buffalo, NY to the Lake Ontario which is about 30 miles long because from Buffalo to Niagara Falls, USA/Canada is only 30 miles by driving.

I went there many times because I am from Rochester, NY, but I live here in Washington, DC. If you want to go there, please avoid during the summer season because of too crowded anywhere especially on weekends. Fall and spring are great, but winter, too because of many snow/ice shows with different colors.

But the river really is very dangerous because it has the strong rip currents that can pull you down into the river. I am not kidding because I am from Rochester, NY which is about 75 miles away. If you wanna experience the river, then the boats are the best options and of course, the passengers are required to wear the saving vests and raincoats (because the mists come from the fall that could soak you). Do not worry once you aboard on one of the boats.
