Hi thank you so much for making this video. I have a 2009 V6 with a manual. Anyway My bank 1 flex section is leaking and I am thinking of doing both at the same time, since the other one is rusty as well. How is the davico part is holding up? I am thinking of ordering it. One more thing- did you replace engine mounts yet? Some people in the forums say flex pipe leak might be caused by worn out engine mounts.

Thanks for the video. I have just completed the fix. I ended up doing it slightly differently and it may help others. I took both rods off (thread was too tight to remove plastic ends in position). But when putting back i connected the ball joint first. Fully opening the roof exposes the balls quite well and then i simply used adjustable pliers to squeeze the socket on without much force. No crowbar against the body needed. Once both in place i could lift the roof to match the mechanism position and bolt the rods into place..

I have an aftermarket short throw on my 987 cayman. I am using this video to replicate/ eyeball where I need to position this. Do you know the final notches on the left and right cable? The alignment tool will not work with my set-up.
@RuslanVideoFilms
@RuslanVideoFilms 6 күн бұрын
I’m sorry I don’t have the notches recorded. The shifter should be comfortable to use. I initially calibrated my shifter without the alignment tool and could tell that it was positioned too far, to the right and ahead of me. If you drive around with the center console removed, but plugged in, laying it on the passenger seat, you can do a few test drives and calibrate to your liking that way.

I just installed the same unit in my 987.1 The worst thing is sound quality, i had to go with fiber optics, but compared ro OEM unit sound, its trash. It starts distortion even in low volumes, when top is off i can bearly hear the music, and if i go on high volume it starts distortion. Is it my units fault or your's is also same ?
@RuslanVideoFilms
@RuslanVideoFilms 7 күн бұрын
I never max'd out the volume on the old system but there are some times when I wish it was louder with the top down. Doesn't sound like trash though - could be things like the wiring, the signal wires they use for the MOST Fiber Box are super thin (and crap) and could replace those, I didn't have issues but could have gotten good crap and could easily be bad wires in that unit, could be a bad Fiber Box, could be a bad unit (not past Aliexpress quality control standards tbh) Aside from volume, leaves nothing to be desired here, but I'm not an audiophile.

great video. I have the same problem with my 987. I want to unlock the top at the push of a button but the windows don't go down, the roof doesn't open, only the top compartment moves up and down no matter which direction I press. What would you say is that? Greetings from Germany Hamburg
@RuslanVideoFilms
@RuslanVideoFilms 7 күн бұрын
If the car doesn't react, it sounds like a bad button or bad sensor for the lever, because the odds of the top AND the windows breaking at the same time is very low

Thanks for the video. By the way, is the camshaft actuator accessible while changing out the EVAP valve? I recently took over a 957 3.6A V6 and have a P0013 error code - ( "exhaust camshaft position actuator circuit, bank 1 - no signal" ). The Porsche specialist workshop at my area suggested it is necessary to drop the engine in order to access the VVT solenoids, however I have doubts about it. Seems more like a move to charge higher $$. They are even quoting me $3600 just to change engine mountings and lower arms!

It basically is if you don't bother with antennas or a rear camera or have Bose. Something that surprised me was the insufficient support from the clips on the sides (it wobbles without 3D printed rails..).

Great video. I've got a 2010 panamera that's been misfiring on every cylinder on bank 1 a little while. Mostly just while idle. I cannot figure out what the cause is. I cleaned and tested the VVT solenoid, that wasnt it. Had a p1372 code. Also have code p0455 evap leak code and I know the bank 1 cat needs replacing, if not both. Recently I started getting grey smoke out the bank 1 side exhaust on startup. It finally threw the code for bank 1 oxygen sensor 1 today, p2243. Going to try that and after that the camshaft lift solenoid on the back of the head, because I'm also getting p1346 lift control code. I'm just trying to figure out what's most likely causing the misfire on just the full bank 1 side of the engine. I imagine it's got to be 1 thing causing most of this as it came on suddenly. The car was fine before this. Could it be the sensor or clogged cat? I'm also wondering about fuel injector. I'm sure it's not coil packs.
@RuslanVideoFilms
@RuslanVideoFilms 18 күн бұрын
Full bank side misfires and P1346 and P1372 … sounds like you have your hands full. Sounds like it has less to do with the exhaust (unless it’s clogged) and more so with the crankshaft sensor(s) or VVT sensor
@BeardAxeMcAxeBeard
@BeardAxeMcAxeBeard 17 күн бұрын
@RuslanVideoFilms thanks for your reply. I changed out the bank 1 variocam solenoid at the back of the head today. It is 100x better, misfires are gone at idle. That was 1 problem definitely. Except still a slight vibration. The problem is, I still have p0016. The chain is slightly loose when I push it. I don't think it's supposed to be loose. I'm guessing you'd agree I need to do the chain and tensioners? No rest for the wicked, but at least I'm fairly certain.

i agree for minimal work wipe on is the best but i still think for best results sanding clear coat and polish and/or compound/polish depending on your quality of clear coat

Thanks for commenting. I call the sanding, polishing “prep work” and it was the same for spray on and wipe on. This video is about the differences in the final step of applying UV clear coat, after all of the sanding and polishing, for both, wipe on and spray on.

Great video, helped a lot, however can you advise. I've followed all steps but my new head unit doesn't seem to go anywhere near as loud as the old PCM? I've tried the max volume tip before new unit installation but still the same. I can turn the volume up to max 35/36 clicks and it's only what I would call moderately loud but no where near the punch of the PCM2.1. Do you have any idea, how loud is yours on max volume? Thanks
